The Horn of Fair Winds is a new item introduced in Season 12 of Sea of Thieves that provides movement and defensive utility. Read on to learn how to get Horn of Fair Winds, how to use it, as well as more details about the Horn of Fair Winds.
The Horn of Fair Winds can be looted from shipwrecks and their remains underwater. There is no confirmation yet if they are guaranteed to drop or spawn so it may take a few tries before you can get your hands on one.
Aside from shipwrecks, the Horn of Fair Winds can also be found in different locations across the Sunken Kingdom. Keep an eye out for it as you explore every area!
How to Use the Horn of Fair Winds |

With the Horn of Fair Winds, you'll be able to summon gales of wind to fill the sails of your ship and move across long distances faster.
The Horn of Fair Winds also works underwater, able to propel players underwater. It can also be used while on a rowboat to quickly gain momentum and move even faster!
Aside from the mobility it provides, the Horn of Fair Winds can also be used as a defensive tool to blow away enemies and keep them at a distance.
This is extremely useful against hostile players trying to board your ship, so keep it handy at all times especially if you're sailing the High Seas. This may seem overpowered but it is balanced out by its rarity and limited charges.
Differences Between High Seas and Safer Seas
Another defensive utility that the Horn of Fair Winds offers is its ability to snuff out fire. Simply aim the horn and use it to extinguish fire and prevent further damage on your ship.
The Horn of Fair Winds has one more trick up its sleeve. It can be used to cushion falls from great heights, allowing you to take shortcuts and save time!
The Horn of Fair Winds is a new Treasure Artifact that can be found in shipwrecks and in different locations across the Sunken Kingdom.
It is able to summon gusts of wind to provide movement and defensive utility, making them worth seeking out to aid with exploration.
Season 12 Release Date and Roadmap
The Horn of Fair Winds has limited use and will run out of charges eventually. It cannot be recharged but it can be sold in exchange for Gold when it runs empty!
When the Horn of Fair Winds runs out of charges, you may sell it at full price to most Trading Companies, regardless of the charge it contains!
