Ashen Key Masters in Skeleton Forts Sink a Captain Skeleton Ship Defeat an Ashen Guardian Fishing in Open Waters

Obtained from Ashen Key Masters in Skeleton Forts

Ashen Keys can be obtained as a drop from Ashen Key Masters in the Skeleton Fort World Event. You can find the location of this event by looking for a Green-Eyed Cloud Skull in the sky. Following the skull cloud leads you to one of the many Skeleton Forts in the game.

Upon arriving at the fortress, you will have to beat waves of skeletons first before the Ashen Key Master will spawn.

Sink a Captain Skeleton Ship

The Captain Skeleton Ship appears in the final wave of the Skeleton Fleet World Event. Sinking it guarantees two Ashen Keys, along with Ashen Chests and several other spice crates.

You may have to load up your ship with several cannonballs prior to attempting this event, since you will need to destroy waves of Skeleton Ships before the Captain's Ship emerges from the water.

Defeat an Ashen Guardian

Ashen Guardians will also drop Ashen Keys upon defeating them. They will randomly spawn while exploring different islands spread across the map.

These red-glowing skeletons will put up a fight, so make sure you have enough food to heal up when your health is low.

Fishing in Open Waters

It is also possible to get an Ashen Key by fishing in open waters. Although, this is considered a slower method due to the extremely low chance for you to catch the key itself.
