Claudia is a DPS and debuffer unit that can target the opponent with the highest ATK, decrease their chance to evade, strike them for big damage, and inflict [Fainted] on them, immobilizing them for 2 turns.

The longer the battle goes on, the more damage she deals, as her Rampaging Dragon!! skill's damage scales with how much health she's lost, which can go up to a staggering 1800% of her ATK. This only increases with her [Ready to Die] self-buff, which damages herself for 20% of her current HP in exchange for an ATK buff of up to 80%.

Claudia isn't purely an offensive character, as she takes reduced damage from enemy attacks which also scale inversely with her health, and she can heal herself for a percentage of the damage she deals with her Rampaging Dragon!! skill.

Claudia Skill Analysis

Rampaging Dragon!!

Dragon's Cross!!

Rampaging Dragon!! deals 2 attacks to random targets, and the damage from this skill scales with how low her HP is, with the maximum being 1800% of her ATK at Lv. 161. This skill also restores Claudia's HP for 5% of the damage this skill deals.

Dragon's Cross!!, on the other hand, targets the enemy with the highest ATK and deals up to 900% of Claudia's ATK. If her HP is below 50%, this skill also lowers the target's chance to evade by 50%, as well as inflicts [Fainted] on them for 2 turns, putting them in an immobilized and vulnerable state.

Rampaging Dragon!!'s heavy damage can be mitigated rather easily if you use Multi-Barriers from witches like Soltina. This skill can be evaded too, as long as the target isn't the highest ATK member on your team targeted by Dragon Cross!!' evasion debuff.

Dragon's Cross!! targets your carry, and there are lots of support units who can strategically be fielded in to help protect and cleanse the carry from damage and debuffs. Examples are Merlyn, Fenrir, and Summer Nina.

I'm Ready to Die

My Way of Life

Claudia's [Ready to Die] status effect from her passive gives a massive ATK buff of up to 80% for 40 rounds, boosting her overall damage output rather significantly. However, this buff is not without flaw, as Claudia has to hurt herself for 20% of her current HP every round. While its 40 round duration pretty much lasts the entire match, it can also be dispelled, which will leave Claudia's damage output lacking. Against Claudia, look to dispel her [Ready to Die] skill to limit her damage output.

My Way of Life, on the other hand, increases Claudia's max HP by up to 60%, and cuts the damage Claudia takes. Similar to the ATK scaling on her burst active skill, the damage cutting grows more potent the lower Claudia's HP is, with a maximum of up to 80% damage reduction (with her UW). While damage cutting abilities are generally very hard to counter, remember that Claudia is far from invulnerable, and she hurts herself for 20% of her current HP. Try to use durable witches who can last long enough for Claudia to inevitably kill herself.

Cerberus

Claudia is most dangerous when she's at low health, as she receives ridiculously high ATK and damage cutting multipliers, while also having the ability to inflict [Fainted] on her opponents for 2 turns. Cerberus can not only cleanse herself of Claudia's debuff, but also execute her when she's below 15% of her max HP. This will completely remove Claudia from the fight at her right before she reaches her strongest point.

Fia

Fia is durable enough to sustain all of Claudia's heavy blows thanks to her HP Drain and her max HP buffs. She'll survive long enough until Claudia eventually kills herself, and she'll return a percentage of all the damage she's received towards her opponents. Fia will outlive and outmatch Claudia team comps in most cases.

Merlyn

Merlyn is good against Claudia as she can cleanse her carry of the [Fainted] debuff, taking away a key aspect of her kit. Merlyn can also potentially dispel Claudia's self-buff, which can also severely impact her damage output. Anyone who can dispel Claudia's self-buff will do good against this unit.

A powerful team that looks to stretch out battles for an explosive end. Fia boost Cordie, Nina and herself's survival thanks to her HP boost. Fia will keep sustaining herself while Nina evades attacks and cuts the damage she takes. Cordie and Rusalka deal damage. While Sivi and Fia take over the later part of the match. Nina might steal Claudia's [Ready to Die] status effect and take 20% of her current HP as damage every turn, but this will also severely limit Claudia's impact.

A team that you can acquire without any SR limited units, Cordie and Amleth lead the battle with buffed attacks from Merlyn and Primavera. Cordie will shred defenses while hitting with massive DEF Break numbers while Amleth will deal big raw damage later in the match when she's invulnerable and doing her last stand. Merlyn can cleanse the carries of debuffs as well. Nina is there to waste attacks by dodging and cutting the damage, while also reflecting debuffs and stealing buffs, while Primavera will buff the team's ATK and SPD while dealing good damage as well as inflicting [Fainted] to opponents.

Other options that can take Nina and Primavera's place are Soltina and Mimi.

Witches Not To Use Against Claudia

Dian

Dian's earns a spot on most teams thanks to her EVD buff that she grants the highest ATK teammate she has. Claudia counters this by decreasing the same unit's chance to dodge by 50%, rendering Dian's targeted buff useless.

Florence

Using squishy carries like Florence without any protection from debuffs or shields is a bad idea, as Claudia will make them faint and deal big damage as well. However, having them on your team with some form of protection can make this idea much more viable.

Tips for Beating Claudia

Dispel Her [Ready to Die] Buff

This buff slowly kills Claudia by taking 20% of her current health every round, but it also massively increases her ATK. Removing this buff will cut down Claudia's damage output by a lot.

Protect Your Carry

Claudia targets her opponent's carry and inflicts Fainted on them. Cleanse this and you should be good. She also deals some ridiculously high damage when her health is low, so look to use Multi-Barriers or evasion to avoid this.

Outlast Her

Claudia is at her strongest right before she dies, but she doesn't stay in this state for too long, as she inevitably sets up her own death. Using durable characters like Fia can help you survive Claudia's last stand.
