Fia is MementoMori's premier Attrition attacker, capable of not only dealing heavy damage to her enemies but sustaining herself by stealing their HP and boosting the HP of her allies.

She also has a devastating Counter buff, which makes her retaliate whenever she deals damage - making sure that any attempts at defeating her will force her enemies to risk paying dearly.

Life Reaver

Grim Retribution

The Power Over Death

Fia's skills (Life Reaver, Grim Retribution, and The Power Over Death) are all tied to how she can outlast many enemies and pay back all the damage they dealt to her with interest. Life Reaver boosts Fia's HP drain and deals a heavy blow to 3 random enemies, while Grim Retribution uses 20% of all the damage she's taken in the past 20 turns to damage the enemy. Considering how many team comps emphasize burst damage in the first one or two turns, this can be very devastating the second time Fia uses this skill.

Meanwhile, The Power Over Death passive skill not only boosts Fia's max HP by 100%, but it also increases the HP of two adjacent allies by 40%, making all three of them tougher to kill and Fia free to use both her active skills with impunity.

The Power She Left Me

Meanwhile, any attempts to damage Fia will be met with retaliation, as her second Passive Skill, The Power She Left Me, raises Fia's Counter Stat (or the Counter stat of the slowest unit in the team, though that should be Fia). This also heals Fia up to 20% of the damage she takes, making her even tougher to put down.

A team of fast and powerful nukers like Florence and Cordie, supported by skill amplifiers like Mertillier, Fenrir, and Apostle Rosalie, can take out Fia as long as they manage to do so within the first one or two turns.

Rusalka

Fortina

Meanwhile, witches who make use of shields and multi-barriers such as Rusalka and Fortina can mitigate Fia's HP drain, keeping themselves protected as they chip away at Fia's own dwindling health once she's deprived of one of her sources of healing.

Tainted Iris

Tainted Iris can debuff Fia's ATK, making her deal less damage and benefit less from her HP drain as well. At the same time, she can also deal heavy damage to Fia and take her out in short order.

Regular Florence/Cordie teams work fine versus Fia teams, as long as the team is speed-tuned properly. Similar to the team we made to beat Sivi, Merlyn and Olivia (or another ATK buffer) should move first before Cordie and then Florence.

This team meanwhile does not focus on taking out Fia herself, but rather her allies. Position Tainted Iris, Lea, and Apostle Rosalie where appropriate, and put Primavera wherever Fia is for the chance to inflict Faint on her.

Witches Not To Use Against Fia

Witch Illya

Mimi

Illya's God's Curse version will have a hard time dealing with Fia teams because of how the latter is reliant on dealing sustained damage to her opponents. Damage that Fia will simply withstand and pay back to Illya once her second skill's cooldown is done.

As for Mimi, she won't be able to chain her kills with Wild Claw, blunting her damage output suboptimal while ensuring Fia will also pay her back later in the match.

A.A.

Belle

Eir

A.A., Belle, and Eir are also not recommended to put up against Fia because of how Fia can simply accumulate all that damage and pay it back to them later on in the match.

Ophelia

Ophelia may be able to taunt Fia into attacking her, but that will just make her inevitably fall when the latter gets stronger. Also, the damage dealt by Ophelia's Counter won't be enough to take Fia down.

Tips for Beating Fia

Beat Her Down Early

The key to beating Fia is to defeat her as soon as possible. Dragging out the battle will only be in Fia's favor, so bring your fastest and heavy-hitting attackers and prioritize taking her down before every other member of the enemy team.

Reduce Her Damage As Much As Possible

Another way to deal with Fia is to reduce her ATK as much as possible and take down any witch that could cleanse her debuffs.

Control Her With Action-Hindering Debuffs

Even though Fia is tough to defeat, she's not immune to debuffs. So you can also try controlling her with Faint, Sleep, and other movement-hindering debuffs. Just make sure that she doesn't have an ally that gives her the Unhindered buff like Fortina.
