Florence is one of the game's most accessible damage dealers. This, along with the fact that her kit makes her an extremely strong damage dealer, makes her a prevalent threat in both PvE and PvP.

Florence Skill Analysis

Florence's 1st skill is an extremely powerful, random-target nuke that only grows in strength the more critical hits it can deal. At max level with a UR-rarity Exclusive Weapon, it can deal damage up to 10 times while simultaneously reducing the targets' chance to resist critical hits by 40%. This jaw-dropping damage and hit count can not only destroy enemies outright but also shred shields when given the opportunity.

Conversely, because its targeting priority is completely random, it is extremely susceptible to the Taunt mechanics of certain tanks, who can often shrug off Florence's brutal damage without dying.

Meanwhile, Florence's passives impart an excess of damage-dealing prowess in addition to her already powerful offensive active skills. While her critical rate buff takes time to fully get going, none of her passive skill effects can be dispelled. This makes her immune to prevalent buff counters like Nina, Gil'uial, and Merlyn.

However, because her passives exclusively raise her damage-dealing capabilities, Florence remains very susceptible to crowd control effects such as Fainted and Silence. This also means that her health is entirely exposed to damage, making her very fragile to get nuked by faster threats.

Despite being very difficult to awaken, the mere existence of Ophelia in the opposing team's lineup can be the bane of Florence's existence. After all, Ophelia does not need to move at all to counter Florence. She simply starts the first turn with the Taunt effect, takes every hit Florence deals, and then counterattacks for around half of each hit she takes.

What's more, Ophelia's skills are designed to let her live through most attacks, allowing her to often emerge victorious in an exchange of blows with Florence.

Without any way to resist crowd control effects outside of support from her party members, Florence can easily be disabled by action-hindering debuffs from the likes of Lunalynn, Summer Sabrina, and Primavera, provided that they are faster and Primavera is properly positioned.

The most reliable way to counter Florence teams is through the use of a well-built Ophelia. Coincidentally, Chaos teams are generally bulky thanks to Ophelia and Witch Illya's skills, as well as boasting high collective damage from Paladea's buffs and their Soul Bonuses. They also have a fast debuffer that can silence entire enemy teams in Lunalynn.

A good way to beat enemy Florence users is to make sure your own Florence gets the last laugh. This can be done by making sure that the enemy Florence has as few opportunities to deal damage as possible through evasion and action-hindering debuffs. And, just in case you still fail, Amleth is there to clean up any leftovers.

Despite lacking any way to innately resist debuffs, trying to beat Florence's incredible burst damage using damage-over-time debuffs such as Poison will not work. Florence's damage far exceeds what debuffs like these can provide, even after several turns.

Due to Florence's incredibly high first-turn damage, using witches that scale off of their current health such as Valeriede is a bad idea.

Tips for Beating Florence

Consider Having Ophelia in Your Team

The easiest way to deal with enemy Florence users is to use Ophelia. Not only will she protect your entire team from Florence's nuke on the first turn, but a well-built Ophelia can also outright defeat her without having to move.

Use Tanky Witches That Can Self-Revive

Witches such as Witch Illya, Amleth, Armstrong, Fia, and Rusalka can survive Florence's initial onslaught and retaliate afterward, capitalizing on Florence's single-minded focus on damage and lack of bulk.

Stack Up On Evasion

With Florence's lack of an innate buff to boost her hit rate, she is especially susceptible to missing her attacks. This will not only cause Scarlet Shimmer to have fewer opportunities to snowball in damage but also severely cut Florence's total damage. After all, a high evasion value adds another check to her damage besides her critical rate. Witches with high evasion rates such as Nina and Dian are particularly good at causing Florence to waste her nuke.
