Hyper Strike Tips

Setup a Hyper Strike by Knocking Down Opponents

Mario Strikers Battle League - Setup the Hyper Strike

When using a Hyper Strike, you'll need to fully charge the shot without being tackled or hit with an item. If you're hit after starting the Hyper Strike, you'll lose the Hyper Strike charge, so it's important to set up your surroundings to avoid being interrupted.

Saving up your damaging items for a Hyper Strike and knocking out all oncoming opponents at once is a safe method, and when you don't have items available, baiting an opponent's tackle and dodging to temporarily knock them down is an effective method.

Items can be used even when charging a Hyper Strike. If an opponent comes to tackle you while you're charging up, use an item right away to stop them in their tracks.
List of Items

Always Use a Star with a Hyper Strike

The Star will both make you temporarily invincible and give you a speed boost. Before you start a Hyper Strike, use the Star and hit all nearby opponents to knock them down, ensuring that you can use your Hyper Strike without being interrupted.

This combo is so powerful that it's safe to say that use should almost always hold on to a Star until you're able to get a Hyper Strike orb, essentially guaranteeing you a 2-point boost.
Star Effects and When to Use

Star Effect Ends When the Hyper Meter Appears

You'll lose the effects of your invincibility after the Hyper Meter appears when charging your Hyper Strike, making you vulnerable. Be sure that you wipe out all incoming threats first before starting a Hyper Strike.

Easier to Execute with High Technique Stat

The character's Technique stat will affect the size of the Hyper Meter. If you're having trouble getting the timing of the Hyper Meter perfect, try setting up Hyper Strikes with your character with the highest Technique stat. Otherwise, you can try increasing the Technique stat of your current character with Gear, or choosing a character with high base Technique like Mario or Luigi.

Stats and Attributes Explanation Guide

Hitting the Blue Area is Easier if the First One was Blue

You will need to hit the Hyper Meter twice to execute a Hyper Strike. If you were able to successfully hit the blue area on the first meter, the second meter will have a larger blue area, making it easier to hit.

How to Do a Hyper Strike

Hyper Strike Steps

Find a Strike Orb

Strike Orb

Players can perform a Hyper Strike by first finding a Strike Orb. If you see one, rush over and touch it before the other team can.

Otherwise, the enemy team can have a chance to perform a Hyper Strike against you!

Strike Orbs Hype Up Your Team

Hyped Up Team

Touching a Strike Orb will hype up your team, which allows any one of them to be able to perform a Hyper Strike.

Only Lasts for 20 Seconds

Upon obtaining a Strike Orb, your team will only be hyped up for twenty seconds before they return to normal.

If you don't get to perform a Hyper Strike in twenty seconds, you will have to wait for another Strike Orb to come to have a chance to perform a Hyper Strike again.

Take a Charged Shot

Charged Shot

After obtaining a Strike Orb, proceed to the enemy field and hold down A to perform a Charged Shot. Once charged, the Hyper Meter will show up.
How to Do Charged Shots

Hit the Blue Areas of the Hyper Meter

Strike Meter

Once the Hyper Meter is up and the needle is moving, you'll need to press A twice and make sure the needle hits both blue areas. If you hit both, your Hyper Strike will be a guaranteed goal!

Hyper Strike Goal Chance

Both Blue Guaranteed Goal
Blue and Orange Highly Likely

Blue and Black
Orange and Black Unlikely
Both Black Guaranteed Block

Keep in mind that as long as you miss the two blue areas of the Hyper Meter, there's a likelihood of your shot from being blocked by the enemy goalie.

Consequently, hitting both black areas will be a guaranteed block, so be sure to time your shots well!

How to Block a Hyper Strike

Press A Button Repeatedly

Blocking a Hyper Strike

Red Team failing to block the Hyper Strike!

When an enemy performs a Hyper Strike, you will have to mash the A button and make the defense gauge next to the goalie completely orange to increase chances of blocking the Hyper Strike.

The outcome of the enemy's Hyper Meter will determine the difficulty of blocking the shot. The better their Hyper Meter result is, the more you'd have to fill the defense gauge to block the shot.

Make a Follow-Up Shot after a Block

Mario Strikers Stay Close to Goal after Hyper Strike

If your opponent's Boom Boom was able to successfully block the shot, you can still get a goal by quickly grabbing and kicking the ball while Boom Boom is stunned. Most Hyper Strikes will leave Boom Boom unable to block the shot for at least a few seconds.

Make sure that one of your characters is standing by near Boom Boom to execute this maneuver. You can use your other teammates to prevent the opposing team from staying near the goal.

If this was instead happening at your goal, you'll still want to stay close to Boom Boom to make sure your opponent does not try the same maneuver against you.
