Players can pause the game by pressing the Plus Button in Mario Strikers: Battle League. Read on to see how to pause the game, when you can't pause the game, and if you can pause the game during online matches!
Players can open the pause menu during matches or training mode by pressing the (+) button.
Option | Function |
---|---|
Resume | Continues from before you paused the game |
Controls | Lets you review the list of controls |
Game Guide | Displays the Game Guide where players can check quick tips |
Quit Match | Leave match and return to the Main Menu |
Upon pausing, the pause menu will show up giving you four options: Resume, Controls, Game Guide, and Quit Match. If you choose Quit Match, the game will ask you if you're sure before you're sent to the main menu.
When Ball is Not in Play Hyper Strike animations Replays
|
There are moments in-game wherein pausing cannot be done. This occurs when the ball is not yet in play, during Hyper Strike animations, and replays.
Nothing will happen by pressing the (+) button when the ball is not in play or during Hyper Strike animations. Additionally, pressing the pause button during replays will just skip the replay instead.
Pressing the (+) button during any online match while the game is in play will bring up the pause menu, but the match will keep on going.
It is not recommended to open the pause menu during online matches as your opponents will still be able to move while the character you're using will remain idle.
