List of Contents
Item | Description |
---|---|
Mushroom | Greatly increases your speed for a short time when used. |
Bob-omb | Explodes when thrown, knocking away players on your opponent's team. |
Banana | Causes any players who come into contact with it to fall over. |
Red Shell | Chases after a nearby opponent when thrown, hitting them and causing them to fall over. |
Green Shell | Travels in a straight line when thrown and will bounce off of fences. Players hit by one will fall over. |
Star | Makes you invincible for a short amount of time and boosts all of your character's attributes. If you touch an opponent while it's active, you will knock them down. |
Question Mark Blocks, also known as ? Blocks, provide an item when touched. Spectators can throw two kinds of ? Blocks onto the field.
Rainbow-colored ? Blocks can be used by either team. Exciting plays and dangerous tackles make these appear more often.
Mario can't use this ? Block since he's from the Red Team!
On the other hand, Team-colored ? Blocks can be used only by the team matching its color.
When a player who does not have a ball is tackled, regardless of which team they're on, their team will receive a team-colored ? Block.
Run towards a rainbow-colored ? Block or ? Blocks that are the same color as your team.
Press X to use the item. For Green Shells and Bob-ombs, be sure to face your character towards where you want to release them.
Players may also use items in training mode by simply selecting the Items tab in the Training: Lesson Menu and playing through the tutorial. This will allow you to use every kind of item and even use them in a game setting against bots.
Hyper Strike Orbs are a unique type of item dropped on the field. When touched by a team member, it hypes up their entire team and allows them to perform Hyper Strikes. The opposing team can also pick up Hyper Strike Orbs so make sure to use your fastest team member to beat them to it.
The effects of a Hyper Strike Orb only lasts for 20 seconds, after which, the effect disappears and you will need to get another one to hype your team up once more.
Since you only have 20 seconds to execute the Hyper Strike, you need to get to your opponent's side of the field as quickly as possible after getting the orb, and use items to keep enemies away from you while you charge up your shot.
The first Hyper Strike Orb will always spawn 1 minute after the match starts, regardless of the match length. Once you are close to the 1-minute mark, prepare to collect the Strike Orb that spawns from above.
The location of the Strike Orb, based on our findings, will be random, but it will always spawn in an area of the field that you can see. If your field of view moves to a different spot, the Strike Orb will follow.
The longer the match lasts, the higher the frequency that Hyper Strike Orbs spawn. Though the interval that Strike Orbs spawn varies widely, the longer the match goes on, the shorter these intervals become. This also means that longer matches spawn more Strike Orbs.
