Mario Strikers: Battle League is unlike your traditional football game. Here, the rules are bent a bit, where matches are highly physical due to tackles with kicks and punches, while goals are scored sometimes by throwing or spiking the ball.
However, the core principle of scoring goals remain the same, albeit done in a more extreme way.
How To Score Goals Effectively
There are multiple ways of scoring goals, all of which have their perfect situations of use. In order to take a shot, players must be at their opponent's side of the field before they press or hold the A Button.

Another area where Mario Strikers changes things up compared to classic football is by using items to have an edge against your opponents.
Items can be obtained by touching ? Blocks or Question Mark Blocks that fall on the field.
Players can only touch rainbow-colored ? Blocks or ? Blocks that are the same color as their team!
Knowing the rules, players can sharpen their skills by going to Training Mode and try out all gameplay mechanics and use them to its full potential.
After getting more familiar with the rules and techniques, players can try to take on Cup Battle Mode and start winning matches!
