Cup Battle Mode is a single player game mode in Mario Strikers: Battle League where players enter in a tournament against CPU teams. Learn more about Cup Battle Mode, the rewards for completing Cup Battle, its tournament structure, and revenge matches.
Cup Battle Mode is a game mode where 1-4 players can compete against CPU teams in a tournament. The tournament is in double elimination format and this means that you will need to lose twice before being out of the tournament.
Cup Battles are in double-elimination format and split into upper and lower brackets with all teams starting in the upper bracket. Losing a match places a team in the lower bracket and losing in the lower bracket eliminates said team.
The finals will feature teams that finishes all the way to the end of their respective brackets, one from the upper bracket and one from the lower bracket. To win in the finals, the team from the upper bracket needs only to win once while the team from the lower bracket will have to win twice.
After a losing twice, your team will be eliminated from the tournament. However, if you have a lot of coins, you can pay 100 Coins for a request to have a revenge match against your last opponent. Requests for revenge matches have no limit but its cost will increase each time.
Cannon Cup puts you up against teams that focus on Shooting. We recommend setting up a team with high Speed so you can quickly get to either side of the field for scoring or defending.

Chain Cup tests yourself against teams that focus on Passing. To counteract the quick passing of your opponents in this Cup Battle, we recommend setting up a team with high Strength and Speed.

Turbo Cup lets you fight it out against teams focused on Speed and movement. We recommend a team with high Passing and Shooting.
Turbo Cup Best Team Compositions and Gear
Muscle Cup will have you go up against teams focused on Strength. Since your opponents will be big and strong, we recommend a team that has high Strength with a touch of Speed.

Trick Cup will lets you take on teams focused on Technique! We recommend playing with a team with high Strength and Speed to lock it down on defense.

After completing the previous 5 Cup Battles, you will unlock the Championship Cup. It's time to go up against the all-around best teams! Expect perfect passes and shots from all the teams.
Given the ace-like nature of your opponents, we recommend setting up a team with high Strength and Speed to defend well and get the ball up the field swiftly.
Championship Cup Best Team Compositions and Gear
By default, your game will be set to Normal Mode. Completing all the Cup Battles in Normal Mode will unlock Galactic Mode but until all the Cup Battles are completed, Normal Mode will be the only difficulty available.
After clearing all Cup Battles, you will unlock Galactic Mode. Once unlocked, you can press X in the Cup Battle menu to switch between modes. Cups are much harder than before, but the coin rewards are also much greater!
Galactic Mode Guide: Tips and How to Unlock
Each Cup Battle win rewards you with 400 Coins after winning a tournament for the first time. Battle Cups won after that will only reward you with 50 Coins.
While all the previous Cup Battles will consistently award you with 400 Coins, winning the Championship Cup will award you with 1000 Coins. As with the other Cup Battles, subsequent wins will only net you 50 coins.
Along with 1000 Coins, you are able to purchase the Bushido Gear Set after winning the Championship Cup.
Although no new sets of Gear are unlocked by clearing Galactic Mode, you do receive 1000 coins, allowing you to buy any Gear that you weren't able to pick up initially.
In addition to the trophies and monetary rewards, players that win all Cup Battles will be able to view the Staff Credits.
