How To Unlock Galactic Mode

Clear All Cups in Normal Mode of Cup Battle

After clearing the first five cups in Cup Battle, you will gain access to the Championship Cup. Upon clearing the Championship Cup, you will be awarded with 1000 coins and the ability to play Galactic Mode at any time. Cups are much harder than before, but the coin rewards are also much greater!

Press X to Change Between Modes

By pressing the X button on the Cup Battle's main screen, you can switch between Normal Mode and Galactic whenever you want.

Tips for Beating Galactic Mode

Have a High Technique Team

Use Items Before Doing Hyper Strikes

Given the difficulty of Galactic Mode, Hyper Strikes will be vital for matches to give players that 2 point edge against enemies.

Opponents in this mode are much more aggressive both in scoring and in defense, so being able to increase chances of guaranteed goals is important.

Best Items for Knocking Down Opponents

Red Shell	★★★★	Use when an enemy attempts to tackle you before or during charging.
Bob-omb	★★★★	Lure enemies in a bunch before throwing. After they're caught by the explosion, charge your shot.
Green Shell	★★★	Throw at opponent pointblank before or during charging.
Banana	★★	Throw at opponent pointblank before or during charging.

It is highly recommended to use items before or while charging for a Hyper Strike to prevent opponents from interrupting you and canceling out your chance to perform a Hyper Strike.

While these tips will prove to be useful during Galactic Mode, it is most important to master all moves one can perform in Mario Strikers: Battle League.

By utilizing perfect passes, perfect dodges, and perfect shots, opponents will have a much harder time getting the ball from you, allowing you to have the upper hand as you wait for Strike Orbs to come.

How to Perform Perfect Actions

Retry With Coins If Needed

You can earn coins through various modes of play, including the Normal Cups. While these are primarily used to purchase gear, you can also use them to retry when losing a battle. While it's not a good idea to spend your hard earned coin if you're going 0-2, retrying a close battle in grand finals can prevent you from having to work through the whole cup again, saving you some time in the process. Just be warned that the price to continues to double after each consecutive use.

Rewards for Beating Galactic Mode

1000 Coins

Although no new sets of Gear are unlocked by clearing Galactic Mode, you do receive 1000 coins, allowing you to buy any Gear that you weren't able to pick up initially.

Galactic Mode and Normal Mode Differences

Higher Difficulty

Galactic Mode is a good choice for those who found Normal Mode to be rather easy. Though the types of teams that you face appear to be no different than Normal Mode, Galactic Mode's matches are so difficult that you might find yourself losing in the first round of the tournament.

All Opponent Teams Wear Gear

In addition to the higher difficulty, all members of the opponent team have Gear equipped, further improving their team's specialty. Make sure to equip your team with gear as well to give yourself a fighting chance.
