The Mushroom is an item in Mario Strikers: Battle League can increase a character's speed when used. Read on to learn more about its effect, how and when to use a Mushroom, and how to get it in a match.

When To Use a Mushroom
Use Before Shooting a Hyper Strike
Initiating a Hyper Strike while a Mushroom or Star is active will cause that item's power to be absorbed into the ball.
This ends the item's effect but also slightly increases the Hyper Strike's effectiveness.
Quick Traversal Towards the Goal
Using Mushrooms in front of a foe briefly stuns them!
Using Mushrooms are particularly helpful for quick traversal, especially for quick goals when time is running out and your opponent is leading.
Beating Enemies Out of Getting Items
Additionally, players can also use Mushrooms to beat opponents out of getting rainbow blocks and Strike Orbs!
Avoiding Enemy Tackles
Players can use Mushrooms to avoid enemy contact, especially from charged tackles from Strength-type characters like Bowser, Wario, and Donkey Kong.
Preventing Enemy Hyper Strikes
Quick passes and Mushroom dashes are key!
When enemies obtain a Strike Orb while your team is in possession of the ball, it is recommended to stall for as long as possible until they aren't able to perform the Hyper Strike anymore.
Mushrooms can be of great help in this case to avoid any tackles that could lead to your opponents to do a Hyper Strike.
Use it When Tackling an Opponent
Once you activate the Mushroom, it will not only increase your speed but will also increase the range of your tackle. Using it on your defenders can help them stop the opponents quickly. But be careful, as you might slam and get electrocuted in the wall if you miss the tackle!
How to Get a Mushroom
Touch a ? Block
Like all items in Mario Strikers: Battle League, you will need to touch a ? Block to get one and add it to one of your item slots. The item you get from a ? Block is always random, and you are only allowed to get items from rainbow blocks or blocks with the your team's color.
