Effect | |
Chases after a nearby opponent when thrown, hitting them and causing them to fall over. | |
Pros | Cons |
・Can hit multiple opponents at once if lined up correctly ・Homes in an opponent until it hits ・Can be used to block shots |
・It can also hit allies caught on its path ・It doesn't bounce on the walls ・It'll stop homing once it hits the target |
The Red Shell can be used to knock down an opponent that is blocking your path. Launch the shell towards their direction to clear a path to the goal or towards a teammate.
Because the Red Shell only chases opponents, there is little risk of accidentally hitting your own teammate, unlike the Green Shell.
Red Shells target the nearest enemy to the player that launched it, so you can use it to take down enemies who are approaching you for a tackle or to steal the ball with little need to aim.
Red Shells can also stop and block the ball after being kicked. Just get to a good angle or in front of the shooter and throw the Red Shell to block the shot and knock down the shooter.
Like all items in Mario Strikers: Battle League, you will need to touch a ? Block to get one and add it to one of your item slots. The item you get from a ? Block is always random, and you are only allowed to get items from rainbow blocks or blocks with your team's color.
