Makes you invincible for a short amount of time and boosts all of your character's attributes. If you touch an opponent while it's active, you will knock them down. | |
Pros | Cons |
・Can be used with a Hyper Strike for 100% guaranteed strike ・Can be used to steal ? Blocks or strike orbs ・Can knock down opponents who touch you ・Can destroy items on the field |
・Duration is a bit short ・Goalie can still stop you when used |
Because the Star makes you completely invincible for a short amount of time and at the same time also gives you a slight boost to speed, you can use it to quickly get to the other side of the field while ignoring advancing enemies.
This is especially useful while under the time pressure of a Hyper Strike Orb. If you are running out of time to use your Hyper Strike, you can use this item to bypass all enemies and make your shot.
Using a Hyper Strike while a Star is active also increases its effectiveness, but the effects immdiately end after the making the shot.
In addition to Hyper Strikes, the speed and invincibility bonus is also great when you are about to run out of time in the match. If you are only a point behind and there are only seconds left in the clock, you can use a Star to score and go to Golden Goal.
If you see your opponents closing in on you especially if you are currently holding the ball, you can quickly use the Star to not only become immune from their attacks, but also take them down in the process.
The Star is also great to score a quick goal immediately at the start of the play. However, the invincibility effect will not work on Boom Boom, so you'll still need to have a strategy to quickly get past the goalie before the Star's effect runs out.
Like all items in Mario Strikers: Battle League, you will need to touch a ? Block to get one and add it to one of your item slots. The item you get from a ? Block is always random, and you are only allowed to get items from rainbow blocks or blocks with your team's color.
If your character is repeatedly tackled while they are not holding the ball, the crowd may throw them a star. However, the same is true for your opponent if you repeatedly tackle them while they are not holding the ball.
