The Training Sword is obtained when an existing save file for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is present in your Nintendo Switch.
For Nintendo Switch units with multiple profiles, the profile that has the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild save file must be used to play Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
The Training Sword will be automatically received after the first quest, The Battle of Hyrule Field.
If you finished the demo and transferred your saved file to the full game, you will receive it immediately upon starting!
The Training Sword has a unique Chance to Automatically Guard +10% weapon skill but the weapon is inherently weak. As soon as you get a stronger weapon, use the Training Sword as a fusion material to transfer the skill!
However, bear in mind that the Training Sword can only be obtained once per Breath of the Wild save file! Make sure you are making the right choice of weapon when using it.
The Training Sword is actually a pretty good weapon solely because of its innate weapon skill. However, when it comes to raw attack damage, it is not as powerful as other weapons.
We recommend transferring the skill to a stronger weapon by fusing, unless you really enjoy the way it looks, and its exclusivity.
