Reward: Battery Capacity +1 |
You can increase the number of Battery devices you can carry in your inventory by completing the A Wandering Korok! quest.
Take note that this upgrade affects the Battery item you can use to replenish your energy gauge. It does not affect the maximum capacity of the energy gauge itself.

Completing the challenge A Construct Assault in the Sky increases your Battery capacity upon successfully completing it. This challenge has a recommended level of 28 and can be found on the Sky Islands.
Getting this upgrade increases the number of Batteries you can carry in your inventory by 1. This also does not affect the maximum capacity of the base energy gauge.

There are three Improve All Allies quests that allow you to increase the energy gauge found on the upper left part of the screen during battles. Each quest rewards you with an Energy Well, which counts as one of the battery icons on the top left.
A battery icon will turn blue to indicate that it contains two sets of energy wells. Completing all three energy capacity challenges will turn the entirety of your energy gauge from green to blue.
List of All Improve All Allies Quests

You can get a maximum of six sets of Energy Wells for your energy gauge, which translates to three blue battery icons on the upper left part of the screen.

The maximum number of Battery devices you can carry is five if you complete the necessary quest and challenge.

Batteries can usually be found inside crates decorated with banners. Picking up a Battery will fully recharge your energy gauge. If your energy gauge is full, it will replenish a used Battery in your inventory.
These crates can often be found in outposts and can be destroyed with an attack.

For Flight Mode Battles, Big Batteries can be obtained by defeating enemies or destroying obstacles. These will then recharge your equipped Zonai devices.

If there aren't any crates nearby, you can use a Battery from your inventory to recharge your energy gauge. You can assign it to one of your R shoulder button actions or you can simply press the right button on the D-pad and use the Battery from there.
You can increase the amount of Batteries you can hold by completing the A Wandering Korok! quest and the A Construct Assault in the Sky challenge.

Entering a camp may replenish your used Batteries. Camps are marked on the map by a yellow tent icon, but you can only enter a camp once the outpost it's in is blue, meaning it's on your side.

If you have the Recharge Energy Gauge Every 100 KOs seal attached to your weapon, you can automatically recharge your energy gauge as you defeat enemies. This generally isn't the best seal to use on weapons, but if you tend to use Zonai devices a lot, it may be useful to you.
Seals can be attached to weapons by enhancing weapons at the Weapons Research Base.

Both Mineru and the Knight Construct have unique skills that allow them to use Zonai devices without draining the battery for a limited period of time. These are the two characters who can use Zonai devices in their strong attacks, so these are useful skills for them to have.

You can use 6 Bonus Vouchers in order to activate the Reduce Zonai Device Energy Consumption by 50% effect for the duration of a battle. This is best used for battles where you expect to make use of Zonai devices a lot, such as those with a lot of elemental enemies.
This effect can be activated through the Bonus Exchange at any camp once it is on your side.
Zonai devices consume energy as long as you're holding on to it. Once set down, a Zonai device will no longer consume your energy.

You can assign Zonai devices for certain strong attacks for the Knight Construct character. Executing these strong attacks will use up energy, since they use Zonai devices.
The same thing can be done for Mineru once you've completed her quest, Endless Trial and Error.
