| 1 | ![]() Go the Weapons Research Base in the map. You will enter a menu with the Weapons Upgrades you have. Choose between the weapons you want upgraded and continue. |
|---|---|
| 2 | ![]() Select the appropriate Zonaite Steel you can use for the weapon. This will depend on the weapon's type, so make sure you have the right Zonaite Steel for it! |
| 3 | ![]() Hit confirm once you are okay with the weapon upgrade, this will enhance your weapon's level depending on the amount of Zonaite boxes used. |
| 1 | ![]() Look at your weapon's current level and check if there are free slots available, if no slots are available, use regular Zonaite Steel to level them first and gain slots or follow the slot unlock requirement to avoid wasting Seal Steels. |
|---|---|
| 2 | ![]() Select the appropriate Zonaite Seal Box you want and apply it! Do note that you may find some Steel with unwanted effects which you can sell or use as Regular Zonaite Steel at your own volition, so read the effects you'll get! |
| 3 | ![]() Hit confirm to have the Zonaite Steel's Seal apply to the weapon. This slot will be permanently added to the weapon, and can only be removed at the shop. So make sure the effect you get is good for your needs! |
Weapons have slots that require special Zonaite Steel with Seals that have specific affixes that provide additional weapon effects. These upgrades can range from more damage to improved attack effects.

Avoid mindlessly using the Zonaite Steel with Seals that you have, as you might waste the effects of the upgrade if your weapon has no more slots available or potentially add a less-beneficial effect to your weapon.

Upon finishing the With Clear Minds Quest, you will be able to remove unwanted Weapon Seals from Slots, at a hefty price of multiple materials and rupees, making this a last-ditch solution if you somehow don't like the effects you got.
Again, make sure to read the weapon effects you'll get before confirming your selection to avoid this!

You can acquire Zonaite Steel primarily from finishing Dangerous Enemies in your battles. They will be readily available in Battles and Challenges as rewards.

When You Progress through Chapter 1, your map will automatically inform you of the Enhancing Our Weapons Quest, allowing you to instantly unlock the Weapons Research Base.

You can upgrade the functions of your Weapons Research Base with Quests! Improving their services rendered to you and unlocking additional options from providing a discount to raising weapon level limits.
| Quest | Reward(s) |
|---|---|
| With Clear Minds | ・Gain Ability to Remove All Seals |
| Supreme Sharpness | ・Gain Ability to Raise Weapon Level by 5 |
| Smithing Efficiency | ・Weapons Research Base Discount 10% |

At least some of the Zelda series' Amiiibos can randomly drop one or more types of Zonaite Steel, one Steel per scan. For example, my Breath of the Wild Zelda Amiibo dropped a Zonaite Steel (Spear) on one day and a Zonaite Steel (Pristine) on another day. While I don't have all of the series' Amiibos, I've started compiling a Google Sheet of what's been dropping from the ones I do have.
