Aside Quests are optional mini quests you can complete during Battles or Challenges. The objectives are specific to each character and are mostly combat-related. It's best to check them at the very start of the mission, whether it's a story chapter or a challenge, to accomplish them before you end.

Once you're in combat, you can press the plus (+) button at the upper right corner of the Switch to open the menu. Head to the Aside Quests, which are on the right side, to check if there are tasks you can complete!

Even though Aside Quests are optional, it's still highly recommended to complete them when you can. They give valuable materials you could use to complete Quests or to buff camp effects.
