Chance Drop From Mystery Boxes

Mystery Boxes

Mystery Boxes provide a random weapon each time you spend 950 Essence to spin one. It’s included in the Mystery Box weapon pool, giving you a small chance to pull the Ray Gun each time you use it.

There are a total of 4 Mystery Boxes across Ashes of the Damned. Look for the blue beam in the sky to locate the active Mystery Box!

Wonderbar!

Using the Wonderbar! Ultra Gobblegum guarantees a Wonder Weapon on your next Mystery Box purchase. This is your best chance to get the Ray Gun from the Mystery Box, although it’s still possible to receive a different Wonder Weapon instead.

Immolation Liquidation

The Firesale Power-Up can be dropped by zombies or activated using the Immolation Liquidation Gobblegum. It lowers the cost of spinning Mystery Boxes to just 10 Essence, giving you more opportunities to obtain the Ray Gun.

Chance Drop From Chompy

Chompy is a trash can that can give you salvages and a chance to drop the Ray Gun. Approach Chompy when it's shaking and melee attack it. It will open up and you can then offer a weapon or a lethal item to receive one of the possible rewards mentioned above. You can interact with it once every round except for a ravager round.

It can be found in Janus Towers Plaza, Vandorn Farm, Blackwater Lake, Ashwood, Zarya Cosmodrome, and Exit 115.

How to Use the Ray Gun

The Ray Gun is a powerful Wonder Weapon, especially if you can get it early in the game. Firing the weapon releases a high-damage energy blast, and it also creates a small-radius AOE that deals half its damage to any enemy caught in it.

Its splash damage makes it especially effective against groups of zombies that are close together, allowing you to clear enemies quickly. The Ray Gun can also be upgraded through Pack-a-Punch.
