Harper Boss Guide

Harper is the giant boss in Fracture, the 7th main co-op campaign mission of Call of Duty Black Ops 7 (BO7). Read on to learn how to beat Harper as a solo, including tips for dodging his attacks.

Climb on Top of Objects and Stay Off the Floor

Instead of jumping over Harper's shockwaves, the easiest way to avoid taking damage while shooting is to simply climb on an object and stay there. As long as you aren't on the floor, the shockwaves won't hit you, allowing you to shoot without stopping to reposition.

Shoot His Mouth as Soon as He Starts to Expel Red Gas

During the early phase, his only special attack will be to breathe out red gas projectiles. As soon as you see Harper rearing his head back, aim at the mouth and keep shooting until he explodes backwards. You'll know you're hitting the right spot if you get critical hit markers.

Make sure to always stay on top of an object or piece of debris when shooting his mouth since the explosion will send out a shockwave similar to his regular AoE attacks.

Open the Purple Care Packages to Get a Self-Revive Kit

Care Package

If you're playing solo and having trouble staying alive, make sure to loot the purple care package that drops during the boss fight (one drops at 2/3rds HP and another drops when he hits 1/3rd HP). Each one will contain a Self-Revive Kit, an XM325 LMG, and an AARROW 109 launcher.

Run Outside Harper's Airstrike AoE

When Harper brings together both of his hands, it means he's about to call down airstrikes on your position. Pay attention to the red AoE markers that appear on the ground and make sure you aren't inside them once the airstrike hits.

Note: During Phase 2 (when he hits 2/3rds HP), you won't be able to stop this attack. Focus on dodging the airstrikes instead of shooting his hands.

Stay Inside the Ring During Phase 3

Blue Safe Area from Gas

Like an elaborate tutorial for the closing rings of a Warzone match, Phase 3 spawns in a moving gas ring that you'll have to follow around in order to avoid taking gas damage. Pay attention to your minimap and make sure you're within the ring during the final phase.

Shoot Harper's Hands During Phase 3

When Harper brings together his hands during Phase 3, you can shoot them to trigger an explosion that chunks away at his HP. Unlike during Phase 2, the move in Phase 3 can be stopped by shooting his hands as he charges up the attack.
