| Complete at Least One or All Brothers in Arms Quests |
・Recruited allies will join you during The Battle of Kaer Morhen. This makes the battle easier, as your allies will provide crowd support during the Wild Hunt’s siege of the castle. ・Complete the questlines of NPCs involved in the Brothers in Arms quests. |
| Skip All Brothers in Arms Quests |
・There will only be seven of you during The Battle of Kaer Morhen, making the battle more difficult since you will have to fight larger mobs of enemies in the castle. ・The questlines of NPCs involved in the Brothers in Arms quests will fail. |
At the start of The Isle of Mists, you are given the optional objective to recruit allies who can help defeat the Wild Hunt during The Battle of Kaer Morhen. This involves completing multiple Brothers in Arms main quests, including Brothers in Arms: Skellige, Brothers in Arms: Novigrad, Brothers in Arms: Nilfgaard, and Brothers in Arms: Velen.
The number of Brothers in Arms main quests completed determines how many allies will join your army and how it affects the difficulty of The Battle of Kaer Morhen.

Completing the Brothers in Arms quests will make The Battle of Kaer Morhen easier during the quest of the same name, as your recruited allies will join your army and provide crowd support while you defend the castle from the attacking Wild Hunt.
Completing Brothers in Arms requires progressing through the involved NPCs’ questlines, which rewards you and advances the story with several key characters.
With that said, we highly recommend completing all four Brothers in Arms quests, not only to make the pivotal battle easier, but also to gain rewards, EXP, and unlock character endings.
On the other hand, skipping the Brothers in Arms quests will make The Battle of Kaer Morhen more difficult, as there will only be seven of you fighting the Wild Hunt. This makes the castle siege portion significantly harder since you will face more enemies with less support.
Proceeding with The Isle of Mists quest without completing Brothers in Arms will also cause the involved NPC questlines, along with other secondary quests, to fail. By not completing Brothers in Arms, you will lock yourself out of potential rewards and story progression.
