This team composition offers a strong balance: the Firebug clears hordes efficiently, the Sharpshooter handles high-level threats like Fleshpounds, and a dedicated Medic keeps everyone healthy. This covers all your team's bases in dealing with the different incoming ZEDs.
For more firepower, the Engineer is a flexible Perk that can excel in multiple roles. Having one or two on the team adds consistent damage against all ZED types, utility through the Multi-Tool usage, and even decent frontline durability similar to the Ninja. Having a Ninja also gives the team an additional frontline tank to absorb aggro and help take down large threats.
Overall, this lineup covers all the essentials in terms of damage for all ZED types, crowd control, healing, and survivability, making it well-equipped to handle any threat in a run.
While the Commando is effective at handling smaller ZEDs and has decent survivability, their mob-clearing ability is outclassed by the higher damage output of the Firebug and the greater overall utility of the Engineer. The Commando also struggles to keep up when dealing with high-level ZEDs.
Other team compositions are always viable, and even a full squad of Medics can succeed with enough skill and coordination. However, our recommended comp is based on what we find most efficient for clearing maps at any difficulty, with ease of play and balance in mind.

| Best Horde Clean Up | ||
|---|---|---|
Firebug ★★★★★ |
Commando ★★★★★ |
Engineer ★★★★☆ |
Hordes of lower-tier ZEDs like Clots, Gorefasts, and Crawlers rely on numbers to overwhelm players. They can become a serious threat when clustered together, but a strong clean up like the Firebug can wipe them out before they do.
The Commando is decent at this role and excels primarily in mob clearing. However, the Engineer can handle it almost as effectively, thanks to the strong crowd control of their shotguns and explosives.
| Big ZED Killers | ||

Sharpshooter ★★★★★ |
Ninja ★★★★☆ |
Engineer ★★★☆☆ |
While horde clearers handle most of the smaller ZEDs, large threats like Fleshpounds and Scrakes require coordinated burst damage to take down before they become even more dangerous.
The Sharpshooter excels in this role, especially when the team creates space for their precise headshots to eliminate the threat before it enrages. The Ninja can also be effective, with Electric Katanas capable of killing large ZEDs in just a few swings.
Another solid pick is the Engineer, whose versatility shines in this role. With the Sonic Storm gadget and shotguns capable of decent burst damage, they can help take down a large ZED when needed.
Regardless of who your team chooses as the Large ZED slayer, coordination is key. When one appears, give your large ZED Specialist space to do their job before the enemy enrages.
A few stray burns from a Firebug or Commando bullets can trigger rage prematurely, making the fight much harder and potentially deadly.

Last but not least, the foundation of any team is the Medic. The Medic (Obi) is S-Tier in multiplayer for a reason, serving as essential support who keeps the team alive while the rest focus on clearing ZEDs. They are also quite capable of handling trash ZEDs with their reliable weaponry.
Team healing becomes crucial in the later waves and especially during the boss fight, where taking damage from raging Fleshpounds or fast-moving bosses is often unavoidable. In these moments, the Medic plays a vital role in keeping the team alive and securing victory.
