The Commando excels at clearing hordes of small to mid-tier ZEDs. The Knightsbridge, especially with a drum mag for higher ammo capacity, is great for mowing them down. Pair it with the SCAR EIR equipped with Armor Piercing Rounds to handle armored ZEDs effectively as well.
The Krait sidearm is one of the better choices since its high automatic fire rate and large magazine match well with the Commando's playstyle.

Firebug’s best and highest-damage weapons are those focused on direct Heat Damage. The Vulcan TA delivers strong burst damage, clearing small ZEDs and contributing heavily against larger ones and bosses with its single-fire mode. Dragon’s Breath also excels at burning down crowds with high burst damage and DPS.
The Pyre .357 is a great sidearm, especially early on when you don't have much range yet. This can help pick off Bloats and Husks since these ZEDs have good range and are resistant to fire, and the pistol's high Ballistic Damage counters them.

Shotguns are the Engineer's best weapons, mainly for their benefit with the Scatter Plot passive skill that buffs shotgun blasts. Bonebreaker is amazing at clearing waves of enemies when equipped with Explosive Slugs. Back it up with the starting Contek CSG that already has very good penetration and damage.
The Shuriken may seem like an odd choice for sidearm at first, but its strong movement speed buff makes it invaluable for helping the Engineer escape tough situations.

The Sharpshooter excels at burst damage through precise headshots, with the Samaritan being the best for high single-target damage and applying Cold Damage. Then, the ESR 36 can pick off medium ZEDs, such as Husks, from range with a Sniper Scope attached.
If the team needs more horde clearing, the semi-automatic Artemis Marksman offers a higher rate of fire and ammo capacity, making it effective for thinning out groups.
The Disciple is still the best sidearm for Sharpshooter for its high accuracy and damage output. This can help thin out small ZED clusters while saving ammo on your primaries.

Katanas are the Ninja's best weapon, offering versatility to take on both small ZED hordes and quickly dispatch large ZEDs with their alternate Electrical attack mode. The Kunai are the perfect backup to help deal with peskier ZEDs that employ ranged attacks like Husks and Bloats.
The Shuriken is the perfect sidearm for the Ninja early on, serving the same role as the Kunai and performing well until you can upgrade.

The K&W MP6 is the Medic’s go-to, being solid in both thinning out the horde and healing. With the Healing Grenade Launcher mod, it excels further at healing the team while also clearing ZEDs.
For boss fights, the LF-85 is ideal, as its healing darts recharge through damage dealt over time. Alternatively, the Biomorphic Projector is great if you want to be a pocket medic for one of your teammates.
The KH-380 is the clear sidearm pick since it gives you more healing to work with. Its damage is also decent enough to headshot Clots and Cysts in the earlier rounds.
