Fill the Zed Time Meter at the Top

Killing Floor 3 - Zed Time Meter
To trigger Zed Time, you will need to fill up the meter located at the top of your screen. Killing Zeds and performing headshots will contribute to filling the meter up.

Classes like Sharpshooter, who excels in doing headshot, helps a lot in helping fill the meter up.

Has a Cooldown After Use

Killing Floor 3 - Zed Time Cooldown
After the Zed Time is finished, a cooldown period will happen, shown by the meter turning brown. During this, any headshots or kills will not fill up the meter.

When the Cooldown period is over, you'll have to fill the meter right back up to full to trigger the Zed Time again.

Certain Skills Help Fill Up the Meter Faster

Foster

Certain skills like Commando's Time and Again and Action Hero can speed up the process of filling up the meter by a significant margin.

Get Zed Time Bonus Abilities

If you want to trigger Zed Time much faster, there is a Bonus Ability that you can acquire that allows you to increase the Zed Time Gain Multiplier by 15% if there's at least 1 Teammate within 10m. Do note that Bonus Abilities are unlocked after upgrading mods to tier 3.

Creates a Slow-Motion Effect

Killing Floor 3 - Zed Time

Triggering a Zed Time will trigger a slow motion effect that reduces the game's speed by a margin, except for the players. This lasts for a short while, and during this time, players are free to move around, shoot Zeds, or reposition themselves to another location.
