How to Ping

Press Alt in Keyboard or Up in Controller

Ping

Pressing Alt in keyboard or the Up directional button in controller places a ping on the map. This marks a location and shows the distance between the pinged area and the player below the marker.

In multiplayer, the color of the ping differs from player to player.

When to Use Ping

Mark High-Threat Zeds

Ping Enemies

Ping can mark high threat enemies and bosses for allies to take note of. This is especially useful as the bosses are often mobile, and keeping track of their positions can aid in strategizing positioning and priorities.

Mark Points of Interest

Players can ping points of interest in the map that may be of use, such as activated turrets, locks, armor lockers, and ziplines with the multi-tool. This can be used to keep track of their locations that can be incorporated in the solo or party strategies.
