Bonebreaker and Contek CSG are the two best weapons for the Engineer due to them benefitting greatly from the Scatter Plot passive. Both shotguns have mods that can increase their ammo capacity and damage

The Shuriken is a weapon from the Ninja class and is the best sidearm you can give the Engineer due to its movement speed buff. For tools, you'd want an Pulse Lure for additional crowd control.

For the Engineer's best skills, you will want to pick the skills that increase weapon damage and survivability. You also want to pick the gadget skills that will allow the Engineer to use Sonic Storm more frequently and have it deal more damage.

The total cost to buy this entire loadout, with mods included, will require you around 8,500 Dosh.

Alternatively, the G33 is the best explosive weapon for a classic Demolitionist playstyle. It has strong AoE and crowd control, especially when paired with the Freeze Grenades mod. This combo can freeze entire hordes with a few blasts, letting your team clean them up easily. It’s a fantastic choice for team play.

The ConTek CSG also makes a great backup weapon, offering impressive range for a shotgun to blow up Husks and Bloats when needed since the G33 has poor range. The Krait sidearm is ideal for cleaning up nearby fodder ZEDs. For tools, bring the Multi-Tool for some extra team support.

Most of the best skills remain the same, but make sure to equip the Full Blast Lvl 20 Passive instead of Scatter Plot to increase the G33’s explosive AoE. This full loadout will cost around 8,000 Dosh, depending on how many mods you choose to attach on your weapons.

Primary 1
Recommended Mods

To capitalize the Engineer's Scatter Plot passive, the Bonebreaker is the best weapon for the Engineer due to its wave clearing capabilities. Equipping it with Explosive Slugs, will allow the Bonebreaker to hit more enemies. The rest of its mods should focus on increasing its damage, capacity, and fire rate.

Primary Weapon Slot 2

Primary 2
Recommended Mods

The Contek CSG is best used during scenarios where you need to shoot critical areas of armored Zeds since it is a single-barrel pump shotguns. Make sure to equip the Incendiary Shells mod to deal more flesh damage. The other mods to craft and equip should increase the Contek CSG's penetration power, capacity, and accuracy.

Best Engineer Sidearm Weapon

Sidearm
Recommended Mods

The Shuriken is the best sidearm for the Engineer due to the movement speed buff it provides, allowing you to escape from dangerous situations. Adding stun-based mods to the Shuriken could also be useful when you run out of throwable ammo, to control hordes.

Alternative Sidearm Weapons

1 Killing Floor 3 KH-380KH-380 Primary DMG: 60
Primary Fire Mode: Ballistic DMG
Secondary Fire Mode: Biological DMG
Base Cost: 800
2 Killing Floor 3 KraitKrait Primary DMG: 55
Primary Fire Mode: Ballistic DMG
Base Cost: 900

KH-380 is a good support weapon you can use as an alternative to heal other allies when there is a lack of a Medic in your team. If you arejust starting out, Krait is a good sidearm since it is already the Engineer's starting gear.

The Pulse Lure is the best tool for the Engineer since placing it will allow you to manage intense horde of Zeds.

The Multi-Tool can provide various uses depending on the map, like activating ziplines or turrets.

Engineer Bonus Ability Priority

Ability and Priority Explanation
Increases Damage by 7 when magazine is at or below 1/4 capacity.
★★★★★
Generally, Shotguns and Grenade Launchers have a lower magazine size compared to the other guns. With the Engineer's perks revolving around these two, this bonus ability can make it easier for him to clear hordes and burst down ZEDs.
Next round deals 10 additional damage after destroying an enemy's limb or armor.
★★★☆☆
Due to the amount spread and AoE of the Engineer's kit, ZEDs will regularly lose a limb or two, meaning this bonus ability will remain significantly active during a match.
Add 20 Stumble Power.
☆☆☆☆
The additional Stumble power will increase the already high likelihood of your shots to stagger ZEDs, giving you and your squad more time to line up the next volley!

For the Engineer, it would be best to prioritize the following Bonus Abilities that capitalize on the low magazine size of his Shotguns to plow through hordes of ZEDs while having additional crowd control to create space for his squad.

The Engineer's best passive skills are the ones that will increase his damage when using a shotgun. With this, equipping Scatter Plot will increase any shotgun's damage due to the increase in pellet count. Pairing it with Major Damage, the explosion of the Explosive Slugs allows the Engineer to control a group of enemies reliably with Stagger.

With the Engineer mowing down a lot of zeds with their shotgun, Tool Up is a no-brainer choice since the Engineer will be able to refill their tool ammo. Man of Steel is also a great skill to equip for additional survivability since the Engineer will obain a permanent armor integrity increase and small enemies will be stumbled when grabbing you.

Lastly, Rally Beacon is a great skill for solo play and multiplayer since it will allow you and your teammates to deal more weapon damage!

Use Full Blast When Running the G33 Grenade Launcher

If you plan to mainly use the G33 Grenade Launcher, make sure to equip Full Blast as your Level 20 passive instead of Scatter Plot. It significantly improves AoE and crowd control by increasing the blast radius of your explosions.

Killing Floor 3 Unknown Skill Icon Reforge ★★★☆☆ Upgrading Reforge allows you to gain more gadget activation energy from using tools.

Engineer Playstyle Tips

Use Sonic Storm to Clear Out Hordes

Sonic Storm is the Engineer's gadget and it is best used when you are dealing with hordes of Zeds during a wave. You can use it multiple times during a round as long as you're using your tools after unlocking the gadget skill called Reforge.
