The total cost for upgrading your armor will require you to spend 4,000 dosh.

You can start upgrading your armor at the very start of the match. Before you hit ready, you can press on the Armor button on the left to check which level you can upgrade your armor and if you have sufficient Operational Budget for it.
How to Increase Operational Budget

After every wave, you can head to the trader to upgrade your armor. Simply press the Upgrade
button just underneath the refill button. This will upgrade your armor to the next level.
One thing to note is that you can skip out on the refill if you're planning to upgrade. Just go straight to upgrading your armor, as doing so will restore your armor to max, saving you some dosh in the process.

The best way to get Armor is by buying a refill at the trader after each wave. Each refill will cost you about 75 Dosh and restore 25 points of armor.

Random armor lockers you can find throughout the map will also contain Armor you can use to refill your own. You will need to use the Multi-Tool to open these lockers.
Multi-Tool Effects and How to Use
Certain passive skills like Ninja's Shinobi Shozoku and Medic's Doctor's Bag skills will repair your armor if you perform certain actions, like using tools or Syringes.
