Preloads were available for PC Steam, Xbox, and PS5 platforms prior to the game's release on July 24, 2025! Before the servers went live, players had the opportunity to preload the game two days before the game's official release.
Preload Unavailable on Epic Games PC
Players who purchased Killing Floor 3 through the Epic Games Store won’t be able to preload and will need to wait until the game's release on July 24, 2025 to install the game files.

From the PlayStation Store
| 1 | Navigate toward the PlayStation Store and search for Killing Floor 3 on the search bar. |

| 2 | Select your desired edition of the game, select pre-purchase, accept the Immediate Payment notice, and select Order and Pay at checkout after inputting your payment details. |
| 3 | The game will begin to preload itself automatically upon purchase once preload becomes available, or you may navigate toward your consoles Library and manually start the download from there. |
From the Xbox Store
| 1 | On your console, navigate toward the Store, and type Killing Floor 3 on the search bar. |

| 2 | Choose any edition of the game you would like to purchase, and select Pre-Order on its store page. |
| 3 | Input your chosen mode of payment and purchase the game. |
| 4 | Afterward, it will automatically be added to your library where you can select the Download Now option to begin preloading the game. |
From Steam PC
| 1 | Pre-order Kiling Floor 3 from the Steam store page and head to your library. |

| 2 | The button to pre-install the game will remain greyed out if it is not yet available. Once ready, simply click it to preload the game. |
Playtest Available For Select Players
A free playtest will be available on PC and Console for a limited time on July 22, 2025, 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM (EDT). However, only select players who sign up on Steam, or those who previously participated in the Console Beta Test, will be eligible.
While limited, the playtest offers a good opportunity to help players decide whether they want to commit to purchasing the game.
