How to Unlock Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear
The quest requires that you find 2 items. Finding either one will trigger the quest.
The quest can be unlocked by taking the Diagram: Serpentine Steel Sword from the ruins on the hill west of the Ransacked Village OR the Diagram: Serpentine Silver Sword from the crypt in the cemetery north of the Mill.

This quest cannot be failed.

| How to Get the Diagram: Serpentine Steel Sword | |

| 1 | Head slightly west of the Ransacked Village in White Orchard. |
| 2 | Approach the hill from the western side and climb up the brick ramps to reach the top of the hill. |
| 3 | Defeat all enemies |
| 4 | Open the chest in the ruins and take the Diagram: Serpentine Steel Sword. |
| How to Get the Diagram: Serpentine Silver Sword | |
|---|---|
| 1 | Head north of the Mill to the cemetery. |
| 2 | A wraith will appear. It will disappear after fighting it for a while. |
| 3 | Break down the door to the crypt with Aard and enter it. |
| 4 | The wraith will appear again. Defeat it. |
| 5 | Kolgrim's body is found to the left side of the room. Take the Diagram: Serpentine Silver Sword |
Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear Tips and Strategies
Tips for defeating bandits
Try to kite the bandits so you can take them down one at a time. Parrying their attacks works well. Igni deals good damage on them as well.
Tips for defeating Wraiths
Wraiths are weak to Yrden. Quen helps negate damage. The wraiths can be taken down with well-timed dodges and attacks with your silver weapon. Use Moon Dust and Specter Oil for an easier battle.
Is Scavenger Hunt: Viper School Gear Worth It?
This quest gives you somewhat useful benefits when you complete it. The Serpentine/Viper weapons are good early-game but later lose their viability since they cannot be upgraded.
