You can unlock this contract quest by reading the letter on the Notice Board at Velen near Lindenvale.
This quest is not failable.
| Objectives | |

| 1 | Talk to Hunter about the contract details. |
| 2 | Search the forest using your Witcher Senses. |
| 3 | Follow the tracks using your Witcher Senses. |
| 4 | Find out where the scent is coming from using your Witcher Senses. |
| 5 | Enter and explore the cave by going through the small hole at top of the hill. |
| 6 | Acquire the Ingredients needed and prepare the bait using alchemy. |
| 7 | Pour the bait around the hill. |
| 8 | Get back inside the cave and wait for the Chort to arrive. |
| 9 | Kill the Chort and take the trophy from its corpse. |
| 10 | Return to Hunter and collect your reward. |
You can find both of these items infront of the cave exit at the bottom of the hill. These items are the ingredients needed to make the quest item that you will need to lure the Howler.
You will receive a huge amount of XP reward and you will be able to take the Chort Trophy from its corpse. You will also receive the sword Azure Wrath.
