The Type of a Monster will determine what Oil it is weak against. For example, Monsters of the Necrophage Type will receive 10% extra damage from Swords coated in Necrophage oil.

How to Fight Chorts
How to Fight
You can only encounter Chorts a couple of times in the game. One is found when doing the Contract: Mysterious Tracks and another can be forced to spawn by killing 3 or more cows in White Orchard. It can be hard to fight a Chrot since combat with it can be really slow.
The best way to deal with a Chort is to keep it inside the poison cloud of a Devil's Puffball Bomb while trying to attack it from behind. You can do this by throwing the Devil's Puffball Bomb at them and casting the Quen Sign to protect yourself then engaging it in close combat.
What Preparations to Make?
You should use your Silver Sword and coat it with Relict oil to deal bonus damage to them. Prepare the Devil's Puffball Bomb to halt its regeneration and help you deal more damage to them and end the fight faster.
Special Sign Effects
- Igni - If your Sign Intensity is high enough, this can burn them and deal additional damage to them in order to end the fight faster.
- Yrden - This can slow them down and keep them inside the poison cloud of the Devil's Puffball bomb.
- Axii - This can be used to stun them momentarily and allow you to attack them from behind.
