No the other racer time is determined by how quickly you get each chest. First one needs to be 6.5 seconds
The video was done on a PS4, the reason why the other chocobo reaches the goal faster is due to RNG. The other chocobo sometimes moves faster and sometimes slower and can cause you to lose even with a perfect run.
yeah in the video the other chocobo reaches goal in 39bseconds and on the PS4 version he reaches it in 34.
This must be from the ps2 version. I'm playing ps4 and I got the timing down to a T and the other chocobo moves much faster...
The only thing that makes this specific challenge very hard is the fact that the camera moves too much and when holding a direction, the direction input doesn't auto-adjust relative to the camera. So you have to input a new direction immediately, or release all input for a fraction of a second. Lightning dodging is easier, but more tedious since you have to time a Square/X press. Camera and movement changes isn't the cleanest for this specific minigame.
Did you even see the vid? Or tried the game? He completed it in a split second difference. I've been trying to copy this for a while now (days) and I still can't do it. You don't just stay inside the tracks that much I can tell.
Honestly they probably didn't make that clip originally. Something you can glean from this is that they stayed on the inside of the track more, except when avoiding poles, which makes some sense.
How the fuck do you guys make it look so easy????
