Templar Best Abilities

Recommended Abilities

Ability
(Learning Level)
Reason for Recommendation
Heart Strike
(Lv 1)
Attacks that are guaranteed to be critical hits deal twice the damage of normal attacks.
Radiant Blast
(Lv 9)
An ability that unleashes a light-element physical attack that deals 1.5 times the damage of a normal attack.
Heaven's Gate
(Lv 14)
This light-attribute attack increases its number of hits based on your remaining BP. With 4 BP, you can unleash up to 99 shots. Combining it with abilities that increase BP or the number of attacks can result in a lot of damage.
Desperation
(Lv 12)
This is a physical attack that deals large damage by incorporating your Physical Defense into its calculation. Be aware that your Physical Defense decreases after using it, so if you use it twice in the same turn, the damage of the second strike will be significantly reduced.

Rampart Protects Against Powerful Attacks

One of the Templar's key abilities is Rampart, an ability that nullifies one instance of physical damage for your entire party. Activating it early in boss battles, especially against those with powerful physical attacks, can significantly reduce fatal incoming damage.

Given their high Mind stat, it's also effective for Templars to serve as a secondary healer by setting White Magic as their subcommand. This allows them to protect allies with Rampart while simultaneously boosting the party's durability with healing magic.

How to Play the Templar

Offensive and Defensivef

The Templar is a balanced job that seamlessly blends potent light-element attacks with outstanding defensive capabilities. They excel at safeguarding the party with Rampart and Default Guard while simultaneously unleashing massive damage on light-weak enemies using Radiant Blast and Heaven's Gate. By leveraging abilities that boost critical hits or increase their BP limit, Templars can maintain flexibility on both offense and defense.

This job boasts high proficiency with both swords and armor, contributing to their well-rounded offensive and defensive profile. While having stats similar with the Knight, Templars differentiate themselves by acquiring more aggressive abilities. Their high Physical Defense and Mind stats ensure stable performance, making them reliable even in prolonged battles.

Damage with Light-based Attacks

Among the Templar's most notable offensive abilities are Heart Strike, which guarantees a critical hit, and powerful light-element physical attacks like Radiant Blast and Heaven's Gate. These light-element attacks are particularly effective against undead foes and can also inflict significant damage on powerful enemies with earth elemental properties.

Additionally, Templars learn support abilities that increase the critical hit rate for both magic and items. This unique trait allows them to serve as formidable support units, pairing effectively with Black Mages or Salve-Maker to help unleash devastating damage.
