Slayer Abilities | Deals 1.75 times the damage of a normal attack against specific types. |
Targeting (Lv 1) |
Deals 1.5 times the damage of a normal attack. |
Mutiburst (Lv 14) | A command that attacks four times. If there is one enemy, you can aim for 4.8 times the damage, and if there are multiple enemies, it will hit multiple times randomly. It consumes a lot of BP, so it is important to use it at the right time. |
Precision (Lv 13) | If all normal attacks hit, the damage will increase according to the number of attacks. 10 hits will be about 1.6 times the damage, and 16 hits will be about 2.2 times the damage, making it a perfect match for Hawkeye. |
Rangers use abilities that deal heavy damage to specific enemy types and are more effective when the number of attacks is increased. The key is to always check which FAM the enemy belongs to by using the Examine ability of the Freelancer and use the appropriate Slayer ability. For example, if you use Bug Slayer, you can deal 1.75 times more damage to insect-type enemies.
However, using the wrong Slayer ability will only result in damage equal to a normal attack, so it's important to carefully check the target's type beforehand.
Additionally, use Hawkeye or Precision to increase hit rate and damage, and unleash overwhelming attack power.
Rangers specialize in bows, leveraging their multiple strikes to inflict massive damage. While their base attack power may be lower than other jobs, their attack count increases as their job level rises, ultimately allowing them to grow into powerful multi-hit attackers.
Their strength lies in abilities like Targeting, which deals 1.5 times the damage of a normal attack to any enemy
The main feature of the Ranger is the special damage ability Slayer, however, it may not be versatile because of the limited number of the family types that can be targeted. Furthermore, Slayer alone is not enough to deal with humanoid, inorganic, and other types.
To compensate for this, consider setting the Pirate's Piracy as the secondary Job Command to generally strengthen its attack power, or equip support abilities that increase physical attacks, allowing you to boost damage with abilities other than Slayer as well.
