Torrent (Lv 13) |
Launches 16 attacks on a single target, dealing 0.3 times the damage of a normal attack. Each attack has a 20% chance of missing. |
Amped Strike (Lv 14) |
A powerful blow that deals four times the damage of a normal attack. Although axes generally have a low hit rate and are difficult to land with normal attacks, this skill is extremely powerful if you can reliably land its quadruple damage. |
Provoke (Lv 2) |
This ability maximizes your likelihood of being targeted to 100, compelling enemies to focus their attacks on you. It's highly effective for shielding allies with low HP. |
Adrenaline Rush (Lv 8) |
An ability that increases your Physical Attack and Physical Defense by 50% when in critical condition (below 20% HP). Since you can stack this effect up to a 100% increase, it's possible to aim for a major comeback from the brink. |
The Pirate is a job that combines overwhelming power with strong debuffing capabilities. Wielding axes, they can deliver one-shot kills and significantly boost your party's overall damage output by shredding enemy defenses with abilities like Shell Split and Scale Strip. The path to victory lies in compensating for their low hit rate while unleashing powerful moves like Double Damage and Torrent to deal massive damage and secure quick victories.
The Pirate is a top-tier attacker among all jobs, having the highest physical attack powers. Their inherent strength is further boosted by exceptional proficiency with axes. However, their low dexterity results in somewhat poor accuracy, requiring some form of accuracy support to reliably land targeted attacks. While leveraging their high attack power for massive damage, their extensive debuffing abilities—which lower enemy stats—also allow them to excel in a support role.
Pirate abilities aren't limited to powerful attacks like Double Damage and Torrent. They also include skills such as Shell Split and Scale Strip, which temporarily reduce enemies' Physical and Magical Defense. A particularly potent and uncommon feature among other jobs is their ability to reduce Physical and Magical Defense to 1/10 or less of their original value. Repeated use of these skills can significantly increase your party's overall damage efficiency.
The Pirate quickly becomes a valuable damage dealer, learning abilities like Shell Split and Double Damage from low levels. With additional physical attack boosts from jobs like the Performer, they can unleash astonishing damage.
Additionally, a combo involving the Swordmaster job is recommended. Set Bushido as a subclass and use Free Lunch to reduce MP consumption to 0 for two turns. This allows you to continuously unleash high-MP abilities like Double Damage and Torrent, aiming for quick battles.
