Reason for Recommendation |
---|---|
Low Leverage (Lv.13) |
For 5 turns, all enemies and allies take half damage, receive half healing, and require half the usual amount of HP, MP, and BP for actions. |
Full Leverage (Lv.12) |
The opposite of Low Leverage, this ability doubles damage and recovery amount to all enemies and allies. It is effective when aiming for a short battle. |
BP Drink (Lv. 7) |
A powerful ability that allows you to recover BP by paying money. If you have enough money, you can gain an advantage in battle. |
Takeover (Lv.6) |
It consumes a specified amount (your level × 100) and deals that exact amount as damage to the enemy. Its appeal lies in its high firepower, which is unaffected by defense or default status |
The main abilities that merchants learn include Angel Money, Risk Hedge, Takeover, and many others that require spending large amounts of money to achieve powerful effects. However, you need to be careful how you use them, as you may run out of money before you know it.
On the other hand, Low Leverage, learned at job level 13, is an excellent ability that halves the damage and recovery amount received by all enemies and allies without spending money. It’s highly recommended to have at least one party member learn this ability, as it reduces the risk of allies being defeated in prolonged battles.
Merchants have average stats, but they are a unique job that can increase the amount of money earned in battle and support their allies with special abilities that use money. They can perform a variety of actions that can influence the course of battle, such as selling items to enemies to generate profit or investing large amounts of money to deal powerful damage.
In regular battles against weak enemies, using money-consuming abilities is unnecessary. Instead, you can combine the Merchant's high weapon aptitude with the Knight's Two-Handed ability to effectively use them as a physical attacker. Alternatively, setting the White Mage's White Magic as a secondary job command enables them to function as healers.
Merchants have average stats, but depending on their equipment and abilities, they can take on a variety of roles, from attack to support.
