You can unlock this quest by picking up the notice Contract: The White Lady on the notice board south of Novigrad in the Farcorners area. You can also unlock this quest if you climb to the top of Drahim castle and investigate the floor or investigate the bodies at the campire near Drahim Castle.
You cannot miss or fail this quest.

| 5 | Go back to the campfire and throw the silver dagger into the campfire. |
