How to Unlock Turn and Face the Strange

After finishing the Main Quest: Blood Run, the delivery boy will appear in Beauclair and you will get the quest automatically when you approach him. To know the location of the delivery boy in Beauclair, see our Tips and Strategies below.

Is Turn and Face the Strange Missable or Failable?

You cannot miss or fail this quest even if you finish all the main quests of the game.

NOTE: This quest will pause if you start the Main Quest: The Night of the Long Fangs. You will only be able to continue this quest after finishing the Main Quest: Tesham Mutna.

Turn and Face the Strange Walkthrough

Objectives
1 Go to Orlémurs Cemetery and look for Moreau's grave using your Witcher Senses.
2 Examine the skeleton and the footprints then follow them.
3 Check the map Yennefer/Triss gave you and go to the quest location.
4 Enter the portal going to Moreau's laboratory.
5 Search the ruins and find the way to Moreau's laboratory.
6 Hit the 4 stone buttons with your crossbow and enter the next room.
7 Defeat the Gargoyle and solve the portal puzzle.
8 Investigate Moreau's laboratory using your Witcher Senses.
9 Enter the nearby cave and find some Giant Centipede albumen.
10 Put the Giant Centipede albumen in the machine, remove all of your gear, and enter the machine.
11 Use Aard on the crystal and leave the laboratory through the portal.

Questing Tips

Delivery Boy Location

After you finish the Main Quest: Blood Run, the delivery boy will spawn nearby, the quest marker will only appear when you get near him.

Portal Puzzle Solution

After you defeat the Gargoyle, multiple portals will open and only one portal per set of portals will take you to the next set of portals. Entering the wrong portal will teleport you back to the very beginning.

In order to cross this obstacle follow these steps.

  1. Enter the portal towards the East.

  2. Go down, climb the ledges and enter the portal towards the North that is on the second level.

  3. Turn left and continue along the path of the third level and enter the portal that is across a gap in the floor.

Combat Strategies

Guardians (Panthers)

  • Coat your Silver Sword with Specter Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
  • Cast the Aard Sign or Axii Sign to stop them from moving and give yourself an opening to attack.
  • These enemies are Panthers but should be treated as Specters when equipping the right sword and oil.

Gargoyles

  • Coat your Silver Sword with Elementa Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
  • Cast the Quen Sign protect yourself from their heavy attacks.

Giant Centipedes

  • Coat your Silver Sword with Insectoid Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
  • Cast the Yrden Sign and wait for them to rise from the ground. They will get stuck and you have a very big opening to attack.
  • It is recommend that you attack their underside since your attacks will get blocked if you attack their backside.
