How to Fight Panthers

How to Fight

Fighting Panthers is almost like fighting Wolves and Wild Dogs but significantly faster. The best way to deal with them is to stop their movements and attack them when they become vulnerable.

What Preparations to Make?

You should use your Steel Sword and coat it with Beast oil to deal bonus damage to it. Use attacks, Signs, or Bombs that can affect their movement and attack them.

There is a special case where you have to battle with Panthers during the Side Quests: Turn and Face the Strange and Equine Phantoms. During these quests you should use your Silver Sword and coat it with Specter oil to deal with the Panthers.

Special Sign Effects

  • Aard - You can temporarily stop their movements and attack them after casting Aard.
  • Igni - If your Sign Intensity is high enough, they will start burning and will leave them stunned for the duration of the burn. This will not work against the spectral Panthers.
  • Yrden - Their attacks will become slower allowing you more time to dodge or roll away.
  • Axii - They will become stunned for a short duration allowing you to attack them.
