List of Contents
Difficulty | 5/10 |
---|---|
Length | 70-100 Hours |
Difficulty Trophies? | None |
Missable Trophies? | None |
Bugged Trophies? | None |
The Platinum Trophy for Sand Land is fairly straightforward, with no difficulty-restricted, missable, or bugged trophies. All trophies can be obtained on Easy mode; however, this guide is written with Normal mode as the basis, so note that your experience may vary depending on your difficulty setting and player skill.
While the game is not hard overall, it is fairly long with a high amount of content. Expect to spend at least 70 hours completing everything here, though this depends heavily on how quickly the player can finish battles and explore the map efficiently.
Length | 30-35 Hours |
---|---|
Trophies Obtained | 25 |
Main Quest Benefits | Side Quest Benefits |
---|---|
・Primary way to gain EXP, needed for unlocking Character Skills ・Essential vehicles like the Motorbike, Hovercar, and Battle Armor ・Unlocks Forest Land, granting access to higher-level resources and better money farming |
・Useful Spino Town Upgrades like the Trading Post ・Zeni rewards |
In Sand Land, the Main Story is overall more important than Side Quests for unlocking key game features. Side Quests do unlock a few exclusive features like the Trading Post in Spino Town, but for the most part, the Spino Town facilities are accessible in other areas with equivalent or better options, including the Workshop. For this reason, we recommend completing the entire Main Story before starting on Side Quests.
That said, the enemies found during Side Quests and throughout the open world will scale to your level, so aside from your available Vehicles and Skills, Side Quests will provide about the same level of challenge whether you do them before or after the story.
Vehicle | How to Unlock |
---|---|
Hopper | ・Unlocked by completing All for the Hopper Side Quest. ・Unlocked by completing the Hopper Rider Hero Ki Bounty. ・Sold by Halvar at the Trading Post in Spino for 5 Ancient Silver Coins. |
Hoverjet | ・Unlocked by completing the Lone Feral Child Bounty. ・Unlocked by completing the Buggy Race before the time limit at the Race Registration: Coast. |
Battle Bot | ・Unlocked by completing New Battle-bot Frame Side Quest. ・Purchased from the Trading Post after upgrading it in the Halvar's Conundrum Side Quest. ・Unlocked by completing the General Bigfield Bounty. |
The main issue you're likely to run into while progressing the main story is the paucity of vehicles; only 5 out of the full 13 are obtained through the end of the game. You can easily unlock Frames for other Vehicles by completing Bounties, which are unlocked by main story progression. We recommend making the three vehicles above, which we placed at the A-tier in our Best Vehicles guide.
Note that even if you have the Frame, crafting a Vehicle requires you to craft its Parts first, and finally spend more materials to craft the Vehicle itself, making it an expensive endeavor. You may need to farm Money or specific Crafting Materials; advancing to Forest Land first can help as Thief's Item Picker will yield much better results for both in Forest Land compared to Sand Land.
While you won't need to go out of your way to activate every Fast Travel Point, doing so during the main story will save you time in the long run. Note that Radio Towers do not count as Fast Travel Points, so while they are useful to have in revealing map points, it's easy enough to come back for them later, while Fast Travel Points will be harder to get if you don't unlock them as you pass by.
Blueprints are used to unlock more Vehicle Parts for crafting, and are frequently sold by Peddlers at specific Camps. Getting all of these is required for a trophy, and will help with improving your vehicles, so pick these up on your way as well.

A helpful tip to save time later in the run is to try to save up towards a total of 47 Ancient Copper Coins within Parts 1-4 of this guide. These will be used to purchase 12 of the 53 Blueprints at the Trading Post in Step 5. Whenever you're in a section of the story in a Ruins area, such as Rao's Suspicions, try to open as many chests as you can to save up the needed amount. That said, the coins can be easily farmed via Bounties even if you skip getting them early, so don't break your back over every last coin.
You can expect to complete 11 trophies through the Story itself.

Hopefully, you've unlocked enough of the Fast Travel Points in the previous step that this shouldn't be too much of a hassle. Use the Interactive Map above to first knock out Radio Towers, then move to the surrounding Fast Travel Points. While you're there, purchase any remaining Blueprints sold by Peddlers – you should have a total of 23/53 Blueprints after this step. If you find the Blueprints to be too expensive, feel free to leave them for now as you'll get plenty of Zeni from doing Side Quests in the next part.
While traveling around the Map unlocking these points, take the time to also grab the 58 Lost Properties. These collectibles are required for two trophies, and are quite tricky to track down on your own, but made trivial with the use of a map.
This will make the following steps of Side Quest completion and Map completion significantly easier, while also knocking out 4 trophies.

The Side Quests are buffered by main story progression, but if you've completed the main story ahead of time, you'll be able to complete all the Side Quests in sequence. Simply complete the preceding batch of Side Quests until a new group of Side Quests unlocks. It's best to start all available Side Quests at a time, which will make map markers appear across the world map; you can then complete these objectives in the most convenient order to maximize efficiency.
Keep in mind that there are 2 Secret Side Quests which will not appear unless the player goes to specific spots on the world map, which are both required for the trophy.
The Side Quests are not substantially challenging, but they can take some time due to their sheer quantity. There are a few tricky search quests like Bottle Land where using a guide is preferable to save time. Some Side Quests will include a choice, but these are for story purposes and none of them will affect rewards or trophy progress.

You'll also get 2 more Blueprints in this step; the Car Blueprint 1 for the Car Part Scavenger Side Quest, and the Battle Tank Blueprint 1, which can be found in Spino Town after completing the Tinkerer Siblings Side Quest.
You should be able to reach Character Level 24, which is required to have enough Skill Points for the Strong Together trophy, naturally by the end of the Side Quests. If you find that you're having trouble getting enough EXP, you can equip the Learning Assistant EX Chip to gain slightly more EXP from battles.

This is a quick task that you can knock out easily. Be sure to do the five Gang Bosses – Diamonds Boss, Spades Boss, Hearts Boss, Clubs Boss, and Jokers Boss. Completing all 5 of these will earn another Trophy.
If you still need to do a few more, complete Bounties which will unlock Vehicle Frames that you don't already have, or do the Desert Assassin Bounty at least once as mentioned in the next part.

First, you'll want to purchase the 12 Blueprints available from the Trading Post in Spino Town using 47 Ancient Copper Coins. It's unlikely that you've obtained enough Ancient Copper Coins during the previous steps, but for remaining Blueprints, you can easily farm the rest of the Ancient Copper Coins by farming the Desert Assassin Bounty. This Bounty can be completed an unlimited number of times and yields 4 Ancient Copper Coins on the third and subsequent runs.
There are other Bounties which reward Ancient Copper Coins, but Desert Assassin is recommended in particular because it rewards Large Panther Fangs, which are essential for making the Superhard Panthator Alloy material needed for endgame Vehicle upgrades.
For the remaining 16 Blueprints, you'll need to complete one of the game's tougher challenges, the Races. The Expert difficulty Races will expect you to have the best possible equipment for your Vehicles, so make sure you have 2 EX Chip slots for the Motorbike, the Dirt Buggy, and the Hopper, and purchase Super-rarity parts for the Engine and Suspension.
From our experience, it's best to prioritize Boost Recovery and Acceleration, as the harder races will have frequent stops and starts. During the turns, you can fully regain your Nitro if you have enough Boost Recovery, and Acceleration will help you speed back up afterwards. If you're finding that you aren't getting enough max speed, use a Speed Booster EX Chip instead of a Speed-focused Engine, as the Boost Recovery nerf from speedy Engines can set you back in these long races.

Despite taking up 4 Trophies, the so-called Guardians are extremely simple and even disappointing battles with random field bosses. For the first 3, simply go to a specified spot on the map and defeat them to earn the Trophy.
The fourth trophy for General Shiva is the only one with a bit of pushback, as it requires the player to complete the Fateful Face-off Side Quest 3 times to earn the trophy. On the third playthrough of the Side Quest, the boss will change to General Shiva instead of Rosetta, though the difficulty will not noticeably increase.

Depending on how many Vehicles you've made already, and what Crafting Materials you have available, this can either be an easy or a hard step.
Making vehicles requires Zeni and a variety of materials, in particular Steel of each quality, depending on the level of parts you are using. The parts included in the Vehicle will determine the minimum level it can be crafted yet; for some of the later-game vehicles, only Super-level parts are available, meaning that you'll be looking at a minimum level of around 19, meaning that you'll need Steel of all four quality levels.
You can get Steel of all qualities with Iron Ore via the Trading Post, but even with a plentiful stock you might run out at some point. The best way to farm more Ore of all levels is to check the map of Forest Land for spots where there are several Grottos clustered together. These spots can be farmed for large amounts of Ore.
Other than these, the main tricky ingredient from our experience was Premium Pterano Rubber, which requires Pale Pteranos Wings, but this depends highly on what enemies you've spent time fighting so far. Let us know in the comments if there was a crafting material which caused you grief when trying to craft and upgrade all the vehicles.

We've arrived at the final challenge of the game, the Battle Arena. If you haven't achieved the trophies for maxing out a Vehicle to Level 30 yet, no worries as it will come naturally during this part.
The Battle Arena is split into two sections – the Headline Bouts, and the Ranked Matches. The 39 Headline Bouts will require the player to beat the main story bosses again at levels 25, 28, and 30; it's best to do these first as they will reward Arena Coin B, which are used to buy Mythical Vehicle Parts.
During this section, we recommend choosing 1-2 vehicles to upgrade to Level 30 and buy Mythical Parts for. Upgrading Vehicles is expensive and will likely require you to farm Crafting Materials, and you will likely need to upgrade specific vehicles for certain battles in the Ranked Matches, so avoid blowing all your cash and materials at once before you start.
You can also save your Arena Coins and give yourself more variety by farming Mythical Parts; the level 30 Geji Dragon Bounty is a great source as it drops 2 Mythical Parts each time it is defeated, and its drops are used to make the Superhard Geji Alloy required for Mythical Part Upgrades.
Once you've found a Mythical Part you enjoy using, give it some extra oomph by upgrading it and specializing it with Part Modding Kits, which you can buy for fairly cheap in Patago. Max out Critical Rate for sure, and put the rest into either Capacity or Reload Time, or a mix of the two depending on your preference. Still, it costs a fair chunk of Zeni to max out a single Mythical Part, so wait until you've tried it out and are sure you're satisfied with the results – not all Mythical Parts are created equal.
The 52-battle Ranked Match gauntlet will test your remaining stash of Zeni and Crafting Materials.
The first 20 are simple and only reward Arena Coin A, which can only be used to buy Options; the next 20, which are labeled as Challenge Matches
, are hit or miss, with most of them still being relatively easy, though they include the added restriction of limiting the player to a specific set of vehicles. Still, try to avoid maxing out more vehicles here unless you get stuck.
The final trial, and the one you've been saving up for, are the final 12 matches, which require the player to defeat each of the main story bosses again with a single specified vehicle, and with a level 32 boss to boot.
The final 12 Ranked Matches can cause some real trouble if you're working with an underpowered Vehicle; at this point, you should have enough to purchase 2 Mythical Parts for most of the Vehicles, but the Vehicle must be level 27 to equip them, so when you get stuck, first try getting a Vehicle to level 27, and then push it to 30 if you're struggling. You'll only be using each these Vehicles for one or two battles, so try not to spend all your mats in one place!
While you progress, you should be able to obtain the One-Man Army trophy without too much trouble as you'll obtain 26 Mythical Parts naturally as rewards for the Battle Arena. If you still find yourself short, farming the Level 30 versions of the Geji Dragon and other Bounties should make short work of the trophy, while providing useful crafting materials for further upgrading your Vehicles.
Some of these battles can be tough when working with a vehicle you're less experienced in, but get creative and you'll make it through! Option parts can be a game-changer, so don't forget that more of these can be purchased from Lassi. One that we found particularly useful was the Acceleration Device in the Motorbike battle against Krowa – the slowdown effect really helps those shots land!

The trophy we've saved for last is the one for obtaining 100 Furniture. This trophy is easy to obtain, but it can soak up your Zeni or crafting materials if you aren't careful, so it's best to do after completing the real challenges that will require your resources, leaving the leftovers for the final trophy.
After you've completed the Battle Arena and all other required tasks, go to the Furniture Shop in Spino Town and either buy or make 100 unique Furniture items. Most of the ones you can make require low-grade crafting materials which you should have on hand; if this doesn't complete the full 100, spend your remaining Zeni to buy the rest. Even if you buy all of them with no crafting, it shouldn't cost more than 50,000 Zeni at max to finish your collection.
Once you've done this, congratulations! You've finished your Sand Land trophy collection and earned a well-deserved Platinum for your collection.
