Beelzebub accidentally made Reya, a little girl, break her vow of silence. Believing her tears had driven off all her luck and chased her father away, too. Reya hoped the vow's magic would bring her absent father home. After ruining her vow, it's only right to find her dad and bring him back.

  7. Headin' South! (Main Quest, reach at least 3rd objective)

Vow of Family becomes available once all the side quests listed above and the Headin' South! main quest are completed.

Vow of Family Walkthrough

Objective
1 Sand Land - Talk to Reya
Talk to Reya to begin this side quest. After your conversation with her, head to the Mount Lisab Cave.
2 Sand Land - Open up a path
Use your tank's cannon to open up a path and you'll find Hect just behind the debris.
3 Sand Land - Hect choice
Talk to Hect and he'll give you a choice of taking the money.
Option 1: Take the money
Option 2: Don't take the money

4 Sand Land - Don
Head back to Reya and talk to her to complete this side quest.

Don't Take the Money

Objective
4 Sand Land - Enter the hole on the left
Continue on the path to that leans to the left and enter the hole with the yellow paint.
5 Sand Land - Continue past the Puraptors
Keep going straight on the path. Once you reach the area with the two Puraptors, keep going straight and you'll find Hect surrounded by more Puraptors.
6 Sand Land - Defeat the Puraptors
Defeat the Puraptors and finish the subsequent conversation with Hect, Reya, Baugi, and Rumeth to complete this side quest.

Should You Take the Money?

Take the Money from Hect

Upon finding Hect in the caves, he will justify his leaving and offer you money to leave him alone. You should take him up on this offer and accept the money as he ends up giving you 10,000 Zeni.

Choice Doesn't Affect Gameplay

Your choice of taking the money or not does not affect the story and your gameplay at all. Taking the money results in Reya relocating to Spino with a new father figure in Rumeth while refusing to take the money sees her heading to Spino with Hect.

Only Determines Who Accompanies Reya to Spino

Sand Land - Reya stall in Spino

Reya ends up going to Spino either way and your choice only determines who goes with her. The stall they put up in Spino does not act as a real shop where you can purchase in-game items and interacting with them only prompts a dialogue.
