Sand Land - How to Cross Gaps
Players can use either the Motorbike or the Battle Armor to jump over gaps in Sand Land. Check out our guide to learn how to cross gaps in the game, and how to fix a jump which prevents the Motorbike from landing a jump from a ramp!

Why Can't I Land A Ramp Jump?

Close the Game and Restart

There seems to be a bug where players will be unable to successfully make a jump from a ramp with the Motorbike, regardless of the speed.

The fix for this bug seems to be to close the game and then reload your save, after which the Motorbike should be able to make the jump successfully. If you're still experiencing this issue even after close and restarting the game, let us know in the comments!

How to Cross Gaps

Use Motorbikes at Ramps

Motorbike

Motorbikes are the best vehicle you can use when crossing gaps in Sand Land. This has good speed and a small frame that allows you to pass through areas quite quickly.

Use Nitro Close to the Ramp

When using the Motorbike on the ramp, be sure to hold off using Nitro until you get close to the actual ramp. This is so you have an extra boost just before you take off from the ramp. Activating Nitro too early or too late won't get you high off the ramp enough.

Build As Much Momentum As You Can

Regardless of where the gap you're trying to get across is located, you'll want to build as much momentum as you can. This allows you to get a better feel of when to jump off a gap in the game.

Be Wary of Obstructions

Sand Land - Be Wary of Obstructions

Before even attempting to clear a gap, make sure to clear the area as much as you can. This includes defeating any enemies or avoiding anything that can impede your jump across a gap.

Use the Battle Armor's Hover

Battle Armor

For gaps that don't have a ramp, you can equip the Battle Armor and use its Hover (Space Bar on PC, X on console) function. The Battle Armor's Hover doesn't cover that big of a distance but you can add a bit of distance by punching at the end of your flight for a momentum boost.
