How to Unlock Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg
You can unlock this quest in one of four ways:
- Pick up the notice Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg on the notice board at Arinbjorn.
- Directly talking to Jorund in the tavern of Arinbjorn.
- Directly investigating the area of the quest.
- Defeating Madman Lugos in a fist fight during the quest The King is Dead – Long Live the King.

You cannot miss or fail this quest.
Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg Walkthrough
| Objectives | |
|---|---|
| 1 | Go inside the tavern at Arinbjorn and talk to Jorund. |
| 2 | Go to the isle of Eldberg and find Mikkjal. |
| 3 | Go to the lighthouse and examine the marking using your Witcher Senses. |
| 4 | Go inside the lighthouse and examine the letter on the second floor, then return Mikkjal and talk to him. |
| 5 | Survive against the penitent until Mikkjal lights the fire at the lighthouse. |
| 6 | Kill the penitent then go back to Jorund and report about the contract. |
Contract: The Phantom of Eldberg Tips and Strategies
Continuity Tips
If you have not finished the quest King's Gambit, Kori and Kraki with force Geralt and Jorund into a fist fight. During the fist fight Geralt will get knocked out and Kori and Kraki will pull out their swords and kill Jorund. After this, the quest Stranger in a Strange Land will start.
Combat Strategies
Wraiths / Penitent
- Coat your Silver Sword with Specter Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
- Throw a Moon Dust bomb or cast Yrden sign to force them to become corporeal.
