The Type of a Monster will determine what Oil it is weak against. For example, Monsters of the Necrophage Type will receive 10% extra damage from Swords coated in Necrophage oil.

How to Fight the Ofieri Mage
How to Fight
You can encounter this fight during the Hearts of Stone Main Quest: Evil's Soft First Touches. The best way to deal with the Ofieri Mage is to eliminate his guards first before attacking him. You can do this by rolling far away from him and his guards and immediately re-equipping your armor in your Inventory.
Deal with the guards accordingly like normal Human enemies then focus on the Ofieri Mage after. Once all of the guards are dead, you can use different means to stagger the Ofieri Mage and land multiple attacks on him before he will start counterattacking. You can cast the Signs, Aard, Igni, or Axii to make him stagger and rush in to attack him.
What Preparations to Make?
You should use your Steel Sword and coat it with Hanged Man's Venom to deal bonus damage to them. Prepare bombs like Grapeshot Bombs, Dancing Star Bombs, and Northern Wind Bombs to deal with multiple guards at once.
Special Sign Effects
- Aard - If your Sign Intensity is high enough, you can knock the guards down and instant-kill them.
- Igni - If your Sign Intensity is high enough, the guards can start burning and you can attack them or others while they are burning.
- Yrden - Cast the Yrden Sign trap to slow them down if you are having difficulties dealing with multiple enemies.
- Axii - This will stun the guards for a good duration or turn them into allies if you have the Puppet or Domination skills.
