Strengths | Weaknesses |
---|---|
✔︎ Has plenty of attacks that have the ability to send enemies out of the arena
✔︎ Can work effectively with both melee or ranged |
✖︎ Difficult recovery if propelled far enough
✖︎ His attacks have slow start-ups, making them easy to dodge at times |
Stripe is an Assassin that has incredible ring out potential in his kit. He can play both up close and from a distance, making him a very effective fighter in any matchup.
Command | Move | Description | How to Use |
---|---|---|---|
Neutral (Neutral + Attack) |
Bouncin' Buzzsaw |
Stripe charges and throws a buzzsaw projectile that travels along the floor and walls. It will circle allies if it passes them. If it hits a enemy while in the air it will bounce off them. Stripe can hit his own buzzsaws to bounce them back. Stripe can throw multiple buzzsaws until out of ammo. | Can be used to bait your opponent into dodging, leaving them vulnerable in the air. |
Side (Side (Hold) + Attack) |
Mogwai Pursuit |
Stripe springs forward, launching his victims into the air. | Use to send your opponent into the air, leaving them open to follow-up attacks. |
Side (Side + Attack) |
Nasty Swipes |
Stripe deals a combo of claw swings ending with a bite. | This is your basic combo for Stripe, the bite at the end of the combo can be used as a finisher towards opponents with high amounts of damage. |
Up (Up + Attack) |
All Claw'd Up |
Stripe kicks his feet up overhead and swipes multiple times. He can combo into a leaping upward kick. | This can be used to juggle your opponents, or simply send them out of the arena if enough damage has been taken. |
Down (Down + Attack) |
Shh, It's A Surprise |
Stripe drops a boombox and leaps backward, destroying it with a crossbow shot. | Use to leap away from opponents while still being able to send them upwards with the help of the boombox. |
Neutral (Neutral + Special) |
Sharpshooter |
Stripe fires his gun at close range. If Stripe has targeted an enemy, he will shoot at them instead, regardless of distance. Stripe will fire all 3 of his shots until out of ammo, and the last shot does additional knockback. He can stop shooting early by dodging out of this move. | Use this when an enemy is targeted to fire three shots at them from across the stage. |
Side (Side + Special) |
Savage Tricks |
Stripe charges a push with this skateboard and shoots across the arena. On hit, he also can combo into a kickflip. | Use the kick flip at the end and follow up with Sharpshooter to get enemies off the stage. |
Up (Up + Special) |
Ride 'Em, Cowboy |
Stripe dashes upward and leaps forward on hit. If he hits any enemy projectile while leaping he will destroy it. He will also leap on allied projectiles, but not destroy them. | Destroys projectiles coming your way, this includes special attacks. |
Down (Down + Special) |
Dynamite Boom |
Stripe pulls out a bundle of dynamite. Press input again to detonate it immediately. Detonating ignites and hits enemies outward. Stripe also receives damage and ignite and launches him in the direction he is holding, hitting any enemy in the way. Cooldown applies. | Bite into the dynamite while running towards your opponent to knock them away, or use it to save yourself from falling off the stage. |
Stripe's side attack is a great move when playing close to enemies as you can keep hitting this until an opponent has accumulated enough damage to get knocked out from the stage. His neutral special can also be used against enemies close to you but if an enemy is marked with your passive, you can shoot them instead even if they try to create some distance from you.
Command | Move | Description | How to Use |
---|---|---|---|
Neutral (Neutral + Attack) |
Aerial Buzzsaw |
Similar to ground, but Stripe throws the buzzsaw overhead. | Can be used to bait your opponent into dodging, leaving them vulnerable up in the air. |
Side (Side + Attack) |
Comin' Atcha |
Stripe charges a two claw forward slash. | Use this whenever you want to get close to an enemy in the air or knock them further back while also applying targeted. |
Up (Up + Attack) |
Chomp |
Stripe charges an upward chomp. | Can be used to send opponents upwards and out of the arena. |
Down (Down + Attack) |
Look Out Below |
Stripe slashes downward. | Use when above enemies to knock them out of the arena. |
Neutral (Neutral + Special) |
Sharpshooter |
Same as ground. | Use this when an enemy is targeted to fire three shots at them from across the stage. |
Side (Side + Special) |
Chain(Saw) Reaction |
Stripe revs a chainsaw and bounds forward, cutting up enemies he comes into contact with. | Can be used to launch yourself forward and save yourself from falling off the stage. |
Up (Up + Special) |
Ride 'Em, Cowboy |
Similar tog round, but Stripe doesn't leap forward when hitting enemy fighters. | Destroys projectiles coming your way, this includes special attacks. |
Down (Down + Special) |
Dynamite Boom |
Same as ground. | Bite into the dynamite while running towards your opponent to knock them away, or use it to save yourself from falling off the stage. |
When fighting in the air, Stripe has a few moves he can use to approach enemies with and his side special is a great example of this. He can also use his side attack to get close to an enemy or if they have enough damage, attempt a ring out.
Passive | Effect |
---|---|
Grudgeholder | When Stripe hits an enemy with a melee attack, he deals Targeted that is utilized for his Neutral Special. Stripe can only Target one fighter at a time. |
Stripe's passive allows him to deal more damage with certain moves in his kit. This basically increases his damage output against an enemy and allows him to keep pressure on a certain opponent at all times.
Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★★★ Boom, Boom, Bounce |
If Stripe launches himself with his dynamite into terrain, he will create another large explosion at his location. | Useful for offensive plays, can be used on unsuspecting opponents bunched up together on the ground in order to deal extra damage. |
★★★★☆ He's The Leader |
When Stripe leaps off of his team's projectiles, he leaps much farther than ususal and gains a speed buff for a short duration. | Difficult to pull off since this depends on the hitbox of the projectile you are jumping off. However, the speed buff you gain will prove to be useful if you ever need to get a few extra hits into your opponent. |
★★★☆☆ Well Rounded |
You receive a 5% boost to damage dealt and defense. | A universal signature perk that provides a small stat boost, useful for Stripe as he can easily switch between melee or ranged and can still be effective at both. |
Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★★★ That's Flammable, Doc! |
Your team can melee an enemy after hitting them with a projectile to ignite them. | This stacks with the ignite effect from your dynamite, which doubles the amount of damage your opponent will take in. |
Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★★☆ Speed Force Assist |
You receive 5% increased base movement speed. | Perfect to mix up with Stripe's aerial attacks as this helps him catch up to opponents faster, increasing his chances of chaining even more attacks together. |
Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★★★ Pugilist |
Your melee attacks deal increased damage. | Increase Stripe's damage further by making use of this perk. This will help you build up damage against your enemies at a faster rate. |
Side + Attack ►Forward Dodge ► Up + Attack ► Aerial Up + Attack |
---|
This combo starts with Stripe's basic side attack and leads to an up attack with another aerial attack follow up. You can inflict at least 30 damage with this combo while leaving your opponent open for further attacks from you or your teammates.
Down + Attack ► Aerial Down + Attack ► Neutral + Attack ► Neutral + Special |
---|
The first aerial down attack will apply targeted to your opponent thanks to Stripe's passive. You can keep the combo going by throwing a buzzsaw with your neutral attack and leave your opponent open to further attacks by following up with your neutral special. This deals more than 34 damage, and the targeted status can be used by your allies again to inflict even more damage.
Stripe's up attack is deadly when a damaged opponent falls victim to it, the last hit is more than enough to send anyone out of the blast zone. If that fails for some reason, you will still have time to follow up with your Chomp aerial attack to make sure that your opponent gets a ring out.
Thanks to Stripe's passive which applies targeted to enemies whenever struck by a melee attack, Sharpshooter becomes an easy option to choose when dealing with an airborne opponent. The additional knockback you get from the last shot can be used to get a ring out over your opponent.
Your buzzsaw can do more than just stagger opponents. Throw it from up above and it will bounce back to you, from there you can hit it again and even apply targeted to it. Now you can send the buzzsaw back towards your opponents with your neutral special to keep them dodging or catch them off guard with another hit.
Stripe comes with a miriad of attacks that have the ability to score an early ring out. The problem with his attacks is that they have to be charged first. If this is witnessed by an experienced opponent, they can easily start a counterattack and punish you for your decisions.
