Taz Moveset and Abilities

Ground Attacks

Command Move Description How to Use
Neutral
(Neutral + Attack)
Soup
Soup's On!
Effect: Charge, Projectile
Taz guzzles a pot of soup, Charging a spit Projectile. The spot can be aimed up and down and deals Tasty.
A short projectile that can apply Tasty. You can use this as a combo opener before performing Well Seasoned to start stacking the Tasty debuff.
Side
(Side (Hold) + Attack)
Taz-Bite - MultiVersus
Taz-Bite
Taz runs forward, biting an enemy if he runs into them. The input can be held to run longer. Use this to charge at enemies who are trying to get away or keeping their distance from you.
Side
(Side + Attack)
Well-Seasoned - MultiVersus
Well-Seasoned
A combo of salt and pepper seasoning that deals Tasty before transitioning into a tornado spin. Use this as your main move for stacking Tasty.
Up
(Up + Attack)
Slam-Wich - MultiVersus
Slam-Wich
Effect: Charge
Taz Charges then slams together a sandwich overhead, dealing Tasty. Taz can move while Charging.
A powerful overhead slam that can be charged indefinitely. You can use this to snipe enemies from below if they are standing on a platform, or you can time this against enemies trying to recover.
Down
(Down + Attack)
Stomp Stomp Stomp! - MultiVersus
Stomp Stomp Stomp!
Effect: Charge, Breaks Armor
Taz Charges a stomp that Breaks Armor. The stomp hits further with a longer Charge.
Use this move to stomp on enemies and apply Break Armor. It can also be charged to deal additional damage.
Neutral
(Neutral + Special)
Chew
Chew'Em Up, Spit'Em Out
Effect: Weakened, Struggle
Taz gulps on enemies, Stunning them. He can also Eat Projectiles, destroying them, and powering up his Down-Special. Repeatedly press down or neutral input to chew enemies, dealing damage. Press up, forward, or back to spit out enemies. Enemies can Struggle.
Use this grab attack to gulp up enemies or projectiles. If you use it on an enemy, be sure to chew them before spitting them out using Neutral + Attack or Neutral + Special. This will also apply a Weakened status effect on the enemy, giving you a short window to knock them out.
Side
(Side + Special)
Taz-Nado - MultiVersus
Taz-Nado
Taz spins forward in a tornado, hittting enemies multiple times. If Taz passes an ally, his tornado's duration is increased, Passing an ally gives them a brief Fast Movement Buff. Make sure you're passing by an ally when using this move to increase its duration and reduce its cooldown. This will allow you to spam the move, making it difficult for the enemy team to group together.
Up
(Up + Special)
Dogpile! Dogpile! - MultiVersusDogpile! Dogpile! - MultiVersus
Dogpile! Dogpile!
Taz starts a dogpile projectile that gradually grows in size. The dogpile hits multiple times after an enemy enters, ending with a powerful finihs. On Cooldown, Taz will instead jump up and swipe twice. Use this move when enemies are grouped together to catch them all inside the dogpile. Although this move has a long cooldown, it is still extremely useful due to its AOE. If this move is on cooldown, you can use the double swipe to propel yourself upwards when recovering off the platform.
Down
(Down + Special)
You Spit What You Eat - MultiVersus
You Spit What You Eat
Effect: Projectile
Taz burps a chewed apple Projectile that deals a small amount of Tasty. IF Taz has Eaten A Projectile with his Neutral-Special, he will instead burp out that Projectile, dealing a large amount of Tasty.
A projectile attack that you can use to keep enemies away. This move can also apply Tasty if you are able to return the projectile you ate using the Chew'Em Up, Spit'Em Out.

Taz's side special is a good approach tool as you can prevent opponents from dashing towards you especially when they have higher damage. His up attack is great for trying to ring out enemies from the top of the screen as this can finish off opponents below the 100 damage mark.

Aerial Attacks

Command Move Description How to Use
Neutral
(Neutral + Attack)
Soup
Soup-er Spinner
Effect: Charge
Similar to Soup's On!, but Taz spins as he spews, hitting enemies backward.
Similar to the ground version, Taz guzzles a pot of soup, which ends in a spin, hitting all nearby enemies.
Side
(Side + Attack)
Well-Seasoned - MultiVersus
Feed The Beast
Effect: Charge
Taz Charges a forward bite.
You can use this as a finisher for your horizontal combos. It can also be charged for additional knockout power.
Up
(Up + Attack)
Slam-Wich - MultiVersus
Flying Slam-Wich
Similar to Slam-Wich without Charge. Similar to the ground version, but it cannot be charged.
Down
(Down + Attack)
Stomp Stomp Stomp! - MultiVersus
Super Down Under
Effect: Breaks Armor
Taz spins his legs into a tornado and drills downward, Breaking Armor.
You can use this downward tornado attack to apply Break Armor to unsuspecting enemies below you.
Neutral
(Neutral + Special)
Chew
Chew'Em Up, Spit'Em Out
Same as ground. You can use this to catch enemies mid-air while edgeguarding and spit them away from the platform.
Side
(Side + Special)
Taz-Nado - MultiVersus
Taz-Nado
Same as ground. You can use this move while recovering, as it can slow down your fall.
Up
(Up + Special)
Dogpile! Dogpile! - MultiVersusDogpile! Dogpile! - MultiVersus
Dogpile! Dogpile!
Same as ground. Same as ground.
Down
(Down + Special)
You Spit What You Eat - MultiVersus
Eating On The Fly
Effect: Projectile
Similar to You Spit What You Eat, though Taz can spit enemies down but can't chew on them.
Same as ground.

Since most of Taz's aerial moves are similar to their ground versions, you can use the same fighting style when jumping in the air. His up attack loses the charge but it still effective at ringing out targets from the top of the screen.

Passive Abilities

Passive Effect
Bottomless Pit Some of Taz's attacks deal a stacking Tasty Debuff. Tasty enemies receive stacks of Tasty whenever they are knocked back. When Tasty reaches max stacks, the enemy is given a Cooked Chicken Debuff and can't attack. When a Cooked enemy takes damage, bits of chicken break that will heal Taz or his allies if picked up. Taz will also lick allies he passes and heal them slightly. Licking an ally has a Cooldown.

Taz's neutral attack and side attack can stack his passive that can eventually prevent an opponent from attacking. While this can be tough to activate, it can put your opponent in a bad spot.

Taz Best Perks and Signature Perks

Signature Perks

Perk and Rating Description Explanation
★★★☆☆
I Gotta Get In There!
Taz's allies can jump into his dogpile, giving it more damage, more knockback, longer duration, and armor. An excellent choice for two-on-two fights. This perk is useless if you do not have an ally.
★★★☆☆
Well Rounded
You receive a 5% boost to damage dealt and defense. The best perk to use when playing one-on-one.
★★☆☆☆
Iron Stomach
After Taz eats a projectile, he will burp an anvil item instead of the projectile he ate. Although the anvil can be powerful, you need to eat a projectile before you can use this perk.

Universal Perks

Team Perk

Perk and Rating Description Explanation
★★★★☆
Press the Advantage
Your team applies a stack of weakened when knocking back enemies that are above 125 damage.
If your teammate also selects this perk, weakaned is applied above 110 damage instead.
You can use this perk to make it easier for Taz to knock out enemies after dealing enough damage.
★★★☆☆
That's Flammable, Doc!
Your team can melee an enemy after hitting them with a projectile to ignite them. If your teammate also selects this perk, ignite damage and duration is increased. Since Taz's tornado attacks can hit multiple times, you can use this to ignite enemies. However, you still need to rely on your team landing a projectile attack.

Strong Perk

Perk and Rating Description Explanation
★★★★☆
2 Fast 2 Block
Your dash attacks break armor. This perk allows Taz to play more aggressively and provides another move to apply Break Armor.
★★★☆☆
Airwalker
Inputing a neutral dodge in the air will spawn a platform below you. This platform consumes half of your dodge meter and overrides parry. Because of Taz's limited mid-air mobility, this is one of the best perks to use for recovering when kicked off the platform.

Standard Perk

Perk and Rating Description Explanation
★★★★☆
Pugilist
Your melee attacks deal increased damage. Almost all of Taz's attacks are melee and can benefit from this perk.
★★★☆☆
Second Wind Beneath Your Wings
You refresh all air abilities after ringing out an enemy. This perk allows you to play aggressively, knocking opponents out of the platform, and safely recovering using the refresh.

Taz Best Combos and Moves

Horizontal Combo

Aerial Down + Attack ► Aerial Down + Attack ► Side + Special

You can use this horizontal combo to start building up damage by forcing the enemy into the corner with a Taz-Nado. If you pass an ally while finishing this combo, it will extend the Taz-Nado and improve your overall damage.

Status Effects Into Grab Combo

Neutral + Attack ► Side + Attack ► Neutral + Special ► Attack

This combo allows you to apply stacks of Tasty and Weakened while dealing damage. You will also end the combo with a grab, enabling you to reposition and choose the direction to send the enemy.

Chew It Yourself Combo

Taz - Chew It Yourself Combo
Aerial Down + Attack ► Netural + Special ► Neutral + Attack

This combo uses Taz's Chew It Yourself attack to inflict stun on opponents and destroy incoming projectiles.

How to Play Taz

Stay Close to Enemies

How to Play Taz - 1

Taz's Horizontal Fighting Style and moves are best put to use by staying close to enemies, allowing you to apply the Tasty effect and deal damage as you please.

Keep Your Opponent Grounded

How to Play Taz - 2

While Taz is exceptional on the ground, his options become fairly limited in the air. Try to keep your opponent grounded to take advantage of Taz's moveset.

Taz Character Profile

Full Name The Tasmanian Devil
First Appearance “Devil May Hare” (June 1954)
Voice Actor Jim Cummings

Like the offspring of a tornado and a particularly angry electric razor, the Tasmanian Devil is a spitting, surly ball of manic energy. If you can get him to calm down, they say he’s as sweet and gentle as a kitten, but that’s a pretty big “if.” Taz has a temper that’s outmatched only by his appetite and, trust us, you don’t want to see this Devil when he’s hungry.
