MultiVersus - How to Battle 1v1

MultiVersus allows you to battle 1v1 both in online and local multiplayer. Read on to learn how to set up a 1v1 match with friends with our guide.

How to Battle 1v1

Online 1v1

Press the Game Mode button, just above the big Play button to change modes.

Choose 1 vs 1 on the Normal tab and click Confirm. If you want to train with a bot, click on the Training button in the Other tab..

Go back to the main menu and click the Play button to start matchmaking.

Note: Once you hit Play, you'll start matchmaking right away without a chance to select a Fighter.

The 1v1 game mode is selected by default when you launch the game the first time and you're done with the tutorials.

Local 1v1

Press the Game Mode button, just above the big Play button to change modes.

Choose Local found in the Other tab.

Connect your controllers and press any button to join, choose your characters, and start the match! Local play only supports up to 4 players.

How to Change Fighter

Press the either the Fighters tab at the top or the Change Fighter button above above the Game Mode button.

Select a character that you wish to play as in the available roster.

Once you've picked a fighter, press the Lock In Fighter button to confirm. Go back to the main menu and start matchmaking with other fighters! Good luck!
