Strengths | Weaknesses |
---|---|
✔︎ Can easily switch between a melee or ranged playstyle
✔︎Has excellent aerial mobility |
✖︎ Difficult to master ✖︎ Most of Reindog's attacks rely on being charged, leaving him open to counterattacks if not protected ✖︎ Needs to perform with a team to make full use of his support capabilities |
Reindog is a Mage character that has very good zoning abilities thanks to his various projectile attacks. Teamplay is where Reindog really shines as he has moves in his kit that can interact with an ally and also because you can have better opportunities to use your charged moves in a more hectic setting.
Command | Move | Description | How to Use |
---|---|---|---|
Neutral (Neutral + Attack) |
Ptoo! |
Charge to Spit a powerful Projectile that can be aimed up or down and will bounce off terrain. | Can be used against highly damaged opponents to send them out of the ring. |
Side (Side (Hold) + Attack) |
Stormdeer's Assault |
Reindog leaps forward, hitting with his antlers and feet. | Can be used to slide through and damage multiple targets at once. Has the potential to ring out your opponents. |
Side (Side + Attack) |
Fluffy Combo |
A combo of swipes and a headbutt. | The last move can send an opponent flying, leaving them open to your ranged attacks. |
Up (Up + Attack) |
Back Bumper |
Reindog charges then launches upward, ramming enemies with his back. | Used to launch your opponent upwards, works well if you immediately follow up with Flying Chomp. |
Down (Down + Attack) |
Tail Swipe |
Reindog charges a powerful tail swipe that can break armor. | Mainly used to ring out opponents when fully charged. |
Neutral (Neutral + Special) |
Love Leash |
Send out a heart tether Projectile that is connected to Reindog, repeatedly damaging overlapping enemies. The tether can connect to allies to increase its duration. Press (Neutral + Special) again to pull the tether back, bringing allies with it. Cooldown applies. | Automatically locks onto nearby allies if playing with a team, use this special to pull them out of harms way. Any opponent caught by the heart tether will repeatedly take on damage. |
Side (Side + Special) |
Flounce Pounce |
A forward pounce attack that breaks armor. | Use this move to break your opponent's armor or send them out of the arena if enough damage has been taken. |
Up (Up + Special) |
Power Crystal |
Summon and Charge a crystal above Reindog's head. Charging increases how high above Reindog the crystal spawns. It will send a bolt of lightning down every few seconds and hit enemies on the ground, applying shocked. If the bolt hits Reindog or his ally, they gain electrified, which applies shocked to the next enemy they hit. | Summon this crystal at the start of the match to hit enemies on the ground with lightning bolts. Allies will receive the electrified status, which can be used to shock your enemies. |
Down (Down + Special) |
Fireball |
Charge and launch a fireball Projectile in an arc that deals Fire Debuff to enemies it hits. Charging increases the distance the fireball travels. The fireball leaves a firewall Projectile on hit. The firewall repeatedly applies Fire Debuff to overlapping enemies. Allied Projectiles that pass through will deal Fire Debuff when they are hit. | Use this special to launch a fireball onto the stage and leave behind a fire hazard that deals damage to your enemies. |
While Reindog's neutral attack is great for knocking opponents off the stage, this can also be used in 2v2s to protect an ally that is constantly being attacked. His neutral special can be used to inflict constant damage when playing with an ally from across the stage.
Command | Move | Description | How to Use |
---|---|---|---|
Neutral (Neutral + Attack) |
Ptoo! |
Same as ground. | Can be used against highly damaged opponents to send them out of the ring. |
Side (Side + Attack) |
Spin-Dog |
Reindog spins rapidly, hitting several times. | This air attack can be used to deal damage to multiple targets. |
Up (Up + Attack) |
Flying Chomp |
Reindog bites above himself. | Flying Chomp can be used to send highly damaged targets out of the ring. |
Down (Down + Attack) |
Tail Swat |
Reindog charges a powerful tail swipe that knocks enemies downward. | Use this on opponents hovering off the edge to score a ring out. |
Neutral (Neutral + Special) |
Love Leash |
Same as ground. | Automatically locks onto nearby allies if playing with a team, use this special to pull them out of harms way. Any opponent caught by the heart tether will repeatedly take on damage. |
Side (Side + Special) |
Fireworks Master |
A spinning forward attack. | You can use this attack to either poke your enemies or save yourself from falling off the stage. |
Up (Up + Special) |
Flying Floof |
Reindog will tumble upward and roll along the ground. Allies can pick up Reindog as an item and throw him at enemies. | Use this to turn yourself into a throwable item for your allies to use. |
Down (Down + Special) |
Meteor |
Similar to ground, but shoots downward without Charge. | Same with Fireball, but you cannot charge the projectile. |
Down attack is a great move Reindog can use when trying to a ring out an opponent as this can send then flying away. You can use up special to act as a projectile attack and potentially setup a play for your ally.
This character doesn't have any Passive Abilities. |

Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★★★ Fire Fluff |
Reindog's fireball creates a larger firewall upon hitting the ground | For offensive plays, gives your opponents less room to move around them, forcing them to jump and be left open for air attacks. |
★★★★☆ Crystal Pal |
Reindog's Crystal follows him as it descends | Can be used to apply shock to enemies more often due to the shortened distance the bolt has to traverse. The crystal risks being destroyed however, as it will be within reach of the enemy team. |
★★☆☆☆ Well Rounded |
You receive a 5% boost to damage dealt and defense. | A universal signature perk that provides a small stat boost, useful for Garnet as she's built around melee. |
Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★★☆ That's Flammable, Doc! |
Your team can melee an enemy after hitting them with a projectile to ignite them. | This easily stacks with the ignite from your fireball, which doubles the amount of damage your opponent has to take in. |
Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★☆☆ Speed Force Assist |
You receive 5% increased base movement speed. | Perfect to mix up with aerial attacks as this lets you catch up to your opponents faster. |
Perk and Rating | Description | Explanation |
---|---|---|
★★★★★ Pugilist |
Your melee attacks deal increased damage | Increase Reindog's damage further by making use of this perk. This can help you build up damage against your enemies even if you are struggling to chain combos together. |
Side + Attack ► Dodge Right ► Aerial Down + Attack ► Up + Attack ► Aerial Up+ Attack |
---|
This combo allows you to throw opponents into the air. It is best to use this combo in an area where you placed a Power Crystal to deal an additional electrical debuff on the opponent. The combo deals 44 damage against opponents.
Side + Attack ► Side + Special ► Down + Attack |
---|
This is a basic horizontal combo that you can use to stall opponents or chain additional combos. The combo can deal a total of 35 damage if Tail Swipe is not charged.
One of Reindog's most useful moves as a Support Fighter, Love Leash allows you to pull back allies that are on the verge of being rung out, while damaging enemies caught in the middle of the tether.
Tail Swipe is an attack that can do solid damage at close range, and has the potential to ring out opponents. However, it needs to be charged, leaving you wide if you are not playing with a team.
Love Leash allows for Reindog to pull allies to its current position, useful for getting allies out of sticky situations. Make sure to use it as often as you can during co-op Battles.
Staying as close to the center of the arena as possible not only increases the effectiveness of Reindog's Love Leash but also makes moves such as Power Crystal to effectively disrupt enemies while buffing allies.
