Agent Smith is a very durable character as his Bruiser nature and the damage from his abilities allow him to ringout opponents with ease. He is one of the more tricky characters to use though as you will need to really spend some time practicing his abilities to get smooth combos flowing.

Ground Attacks

Effect: Grab, Silence
Smith grabs his enemy then plants a bug on them. The bug deals silence. On cooldown, Smith will instead headbutt his enemy.
You can use this to render an enemy vulnerable to attacks without the option to attack back.
Side

Sneak_Shot - MultiVersus
Sneak_Shot
Smith slides to the ground. If he hits an enemy, he will shoot them. This is good for starting combos as the shots from Smith knocks enemies up, perfect for following up with either aerial or normal combos.

Effect: Grab
A combo of punches ending in a grab.
This is Agent Smith's basic combo. You can use cancel the grab to chain this combo with other attacks.

Charge an uppercut. The longer the charge, the further Smith moves.
Can be used to knock enemies in the air to start aerial combos.

Good for interrupting charge attacks or for edgeguarding.

Smith charges then shoots. The direction he fires his gun can be aimed up or down.
This is best used when enemies are trying to recover on the platform due to the knockback.

Smith dives forward and shoots. This can be an alternative to Smith's Side (Hold) + Attack which you can use to get close to enemies while knocking them back. Also very good ringout potential.

Smith charges and aims a reticle. On release, Smith will teleport to that location, launching enemies upward.
Good for reaching enemies in the air or to cover more space when recovering back to the platform.

Effect: Projectile, Grab
Smith requests support from another Agent. The Agent projectile will run forward along the ground. If he reaches an enemy, he will grab and throw them toward smith. Charging increases the lifetime of the Agent. If the Agent passes an ally, he will disappear and give his ally an agent buff. Allies with the agent buff will summon an Agent projectile when they use a forward or neutral attack on the ground. Using this attack while Smith's ally has an agent buff will instead teleport Smith to his ally. Cooldown applies.
Use this to force enemies to move away from you or to instantly back up an ally.

Agent Smith's ground moves feature multiple grab attacks in Silent_Treatment, Grapple_Protocol, and Going_Viral. These moves allow him to really get up close and personal to opponents, allowing him to follow up with his other melee attacks.

Smith delivers a chop. This can be used to knockback enemies while fighting in the air.

Similar to ground, but cannot be charged. Similar to the ground version, you can use this to keep enemies in the air or ring them out.
Down

Smith stomps. You can use this to finish aerial combos to knock enemies down or try for a ring out outside the platform.

Bullet_Rain
Smith flips forward and shoots downward. Good for dealing damage to enemies while moving across the platform.

Many of Agent Smith's aerial moves utilize the same chargeable ground moves, mainly his Aerial_Upper_Cut and C#-Shooter among others. While these are similar to their ground versions, they allow Agent Smith to maneuver better while in the air.

Passive Abilities

Passive Effect
Gun_Fu Smith uses his gun for close range melee attacks that destroy projectiles. He fires his gun one to three times whenever he shoots. This is controlled by the meter, with more shots coming from more meter. Shooting consumes his meter, while melee attacks without his gun refresh it.

Agent Smith's passive allows him to basically extend his range, while also breaking any projectiles that come his way. While not a true ranged attack, the shots coming from his gun gives him more presence while fighting.

Your agent will hold enemies in place instead of throwing them. Enemies can struggle to escape. Instead of just throwing an enemy in Agent Smith's direction, this holds them in place and gives you a better opportunity to land attacks.

Smith's gun attacks will only shoot once, but if he has extra ammo, the attack will have a sweet spot at the end. This perk increases the damage of Agent Smith's bullets, allowing you to deal more damage anytime you shoot at enemies with a full meter.

Buddy_System
Use your up special on an ally to attach to them, then use an extended version of the attack. This extends your Up + Special attack, allowing you to cover more ground with the teleport.

Your team gains a projectile shield after running on the ground in the same direction for at least 0.5 seconds. If your teammate also selects this perk, the projectile shield activates faster. This perk gives Agent Smith more protection when running towards enemies, especially when against opponents with multiple projectile attacks.

Inputting a neutral dodge in the air will spawn a platform below you. This platform consumes half of your dodge meter and overrides parry. Since Agent Smith is designed to fight up close, this gives him additional room to play with. This can also be used to initiate aerial combos.

Agent Smith Best Combos and Moves

Neutral to Side Combo

Neutral + Attack ► Side Attack x3

This combo starts by silencing an enemy then following up with Agent Smith's regular combo and deals 26 damage. This is a quick combo that can ring out enemies at higher damages.

Side Attack to Specials Combo

Side + Attack x2 ► Neutral + Special ► Side + Special

This combo starts with Agent Smith's regular Side + Attack but cancels the last hit to end with a couple of knockback attacks that deals 21 damage and tries to knock enemies out of the platform.

C#-Shooter

MultiVersus - C#-Shooter

This is one of Agent Smith's projectile attacks and can work as an offensive tool to deal damage or to destroy any projectiles headed your way. Since you can charge this attack and change the direction of where to shoot,
this attack works well in any combo as it adds additional damage that can surprise enemies.

Going_Viral

MultiVersus - Going_Viral

When playing solo, this can be used to initiate fights as your clone grabs an enemy, allowing you to follow up. When playing with an ally, you can use this to teleport to them instantly, when they have an agent buff, to catch enemies off guard.

Spam Silent_Treatment

MultiVersus - Use of Silent_Treatment

Silent_Treatment renders an enemy vulnerable to attacks by preventing them from using any cooldown abilities. It would be best to use this whenever you have it up to maximize its effects against opponents.

Pay Attention to Your Gun_Fu Meter

MultiVersus - Gun_Fu

Agent Smith's determines whether he shoots 1 or up to 3 bullets. When fighting enemies using melee attacks, you can fill this up so be sure to always check the meter in order to maximize the damage of your gun attacks.
