How to Play Local Multiplayer Guide

MultiVersus's local multiplayer is one of the more popular modes in the game. Learn how to set up a split screen match and play local multiplayer with your friends with our guide.

How to Play Local Multiplayer

1	Press the Play button and choose Custom on the top bar.
2	Choose the Local Play option on the Custom Menu.
3	Click on any button on the second controller to join the match. Up to four players can join the match as long as their controllers are connected to the console or PC.

Local Multiplayer Features

The Full Roster is Available

The Local Multiplayer Mode lets you play with up to three other friends in a split screen match with access to the full roster. This includes recently released characters as well as any character that you have yet to purchase in the game.

It's also possible to choose your character's skins, but only ones that you have already unlocked with Gold or Gleamium.

Toggle Match Settings

Local Mutiplayer also allows you to customize Match Settings, including the Game Mode, how many ringouts required to win the match, time, and hazards on the stage selected.

Requires at Least One Other Player

It's not possible to play Local Multiplayer on your own and requires at least one other player to start. If you want to practice with A.I. controlled characters, you can always test your skills at The Lab.
